Recently the Wyoming State Library (WSL) sent a press release stating it will host its sixteenth annual Wyoming Snapshot Day during the week of Oct. 12-16, 2026. “This virtual event will celebrate the important impact Wyoming’s libraries have on their communities to their stakeholders and the greater Wyoming community. All Wyoming libraries are invited to submit photos of their patrons, staff, facilities, and resources, as well as comments from patrons and staff. Content shared during the weeklong celebration will be published on the WSL’s social media channels and utilized by the WSL throughout the year.”

Each of the Big Horn County libraries will participate. The Lovell Library’s Day is Tuesday, Oct. 13. In Greybull the library will participate on Thursday, Oct. 15. Wrapping up the week is the Basin Library on October 16.

Big Horn County Libraries Interim Director Barb Johnston noted that each library is responsible for having staff take photos of activities happening in their library. They will then email them to Christi Weinzierl at the state library.

The libraries have all participated in the past are looking forward to their patrons joining in.
