Burton Henderson Smith

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Burton Henderson Smith on June 4, 2026, at his home in Las Vegas, Nev.

Burt started his life in Wyoming with his father and mother.  At a young age he lost his mother and then his father.  He was raised by his stepmother, who he always looked to as mom.  After graduating from Greybull High School, he went to work for his brother Crocket Lamont at Smith Electric.  After a short time, he moved to Las Vegas, Nev. where he continued to work as an electrician.  During this time, he became the proud father of Tyler Randall.

He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur Callis Smith and June McIntosh Henderson Smith, siblings Paul Smith, David (Crocket) Lamont, Jay Smith, Diane Sandoval, Neil Lamont, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Survivors include his son Tyler, step-mother Marie Lewis Smith Gemmel, siblings Karen Reiger, David Smith, Linda Denniston, Robin Roberts, Michael Smith, Anna Stebritz, Gerald Lewis and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate the life of Burt on Oct 10, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. in the Greybull City Park.  Come and share your favorite memories with the family.  Burial will follow at Whaley Cemetery.
