• Sheriff's Report

The following calls were received by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office: (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the Court:

July 13 - 10:40 a.m.: A report of a lost phone on South Eighth Street in Basin was taken by dispatch. 

1:13 p.m.: A citation was issued in a traffic stop at South Fourth Street and B Street. 

3:24 p.m.: An officer contacted a man walking down the road at Highway 433 and Highway 20 South in Manderson, cleared. 

4:56 p.m.: A citation was issued in a two-vehicle accident on West Wyoming Avenue in Basin. No injuries were reported. 

6:09 p.m.: A caller reported items had been taken from their property on Lane 49.5 in Manderson, found to be a civil issue where family members were arguing over a deceased person’s property. 

6:39 p.m.: A traffic complaint was taken on North Sixth Street in Greybull. 

July 14 - 7:34 a.m.: A dog was reported out near the bridge on Highway 14 in Greybull. 

2:15 p.m.: Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office assisted Manderson Police Department at Manderson Town Hall on West Railway Street in Manderson. 

4:59 p.m.: An extra patrol was conducted on Lane 51.5 in Manderson. 

5:09 p.m.: A civil issue was reported on Lane 32.5 in Shell where a male and female previously in a relationship were advised to seek an attorney’s assistance in dividing up their property. 

5:39 p.m.: A citation was issued in a traffic stop on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

5:41 p.m.: BHCSO assisted Basin Police Department on Highway 20 South. 

6:43 p.m.: Calves were reported out on Rairden Lane near Manderson. 

10:52 p.m.: A wildlife call was made on Frontier Drive in Greybull. 

July 15 - 4:12 a.m.: A false fire alarm reported at Burlington Schools on School Avenue in Burlington was handled by dispatch. 

8:28 a.m.: BHCSO assisted Basin PD on West Wyoming Street in Basin. 

10:09 a.m.: A traffic complaint was made on Highway 20 South in Manderson. 

10:26 a.m.: BHCSO was called to a civil matter on Lane 49.5 in Manderson where family members were reportedly fighting over a deceased person’s property. 

12:59 p.m.: BHCSO assisted Department of Family Services on Park Avenue in Burlington. 

3:53 p.m.: A caller reported that a pilot car for an oversized load was pushing other cars off the roadway on Highway 310 in Greybull, cleared by patrol. 

6:41 p.m.: An officer assisted an individual looking for an RV mechanic on South Fourth Street in Basin. 

7:20 p.m.: Horses were reported out behind the fire hall on Fifth Street in Manderson. 

July 16 - 12:32 a.m.: A man on a bike was reported as a suspicious person on Highway 30 in Otto, cleared by patrol. 

6:31 a.m.: A member of the public asked for assistance on Crescent Drive in Basin. 

6:47 a.m.: BHCSO assisted Basin Police Department on Crescent Drive in Basin. 

10:04 a.m.: A bicycle riders vs. vehicle complaint was taken on Highway 310 in Greybull.

11:51 a.m.: A livestock issue was reported on Lane 34 in Greybull. 

2:59 p.m.: BHCSO assisted Department of Family Services at Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office on Murphy Street in Basin. 

4:40 p.m.: A water tank fallen from a semi-truck was reported as a traffic hazard on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

6:26 p.m.: BHCSO assisted Burlington Fire Department on Highway 14/16/20 in Emblem. 

6:52 p.m.: Community relations were conducted at Shell Community Hall on Shell Avenue in Shell. 

8:50 p.m.: A caller reported their neighbor’s horse was on their property on Lane 39 in Otto. 

July 17 - 11:58 a.m.: A semi was reported parking unsafely at T.h.e. Shop on Orchard Bench Road in Basin. 

July 18 - 4:08 p.m.: A citation was issued in a 911 hang up at Lane 42 and Road Nine in Burlington. 

6:17 p.m.: A vehicle crash was reported on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

10:59 p.m.: A crash detection alert on Basin Garden Road resulted in a cancelled unit. 

July 19 - 10:24 a.m.: Four sheep were reported loose at Highway 310 and Highway 20 in Greybull. 

4:48 p.m.: A power outage was reported to Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office on Murphy Street in Basin, handled by dispatch. 

10:27 a.m.: A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

10:38 p.m.: An officer removed a deer carcass from the roadway on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

ARRESTS

Jayson Alexander Araiza Atilano of Greybull was arrested at 11:19 p.m. on Friday, July 17 for a bond violation, bailed the same day. 

Roberto Jesus Ramirez Calzado of Denver, Colo. was arrested at 4 p.m. on Monday, July 13 in Big Horn County for speeding in a 70 mph zone, possession of a controlled substance in powder or crystalline form, open container, no driver’s license and no compulsory auto insurance, bailed after three days served.

Tessa Taneha Walbert of Emblem was arrested on a warrant for probation revocation at noon Saturday, July 18, released after one day.
