The Nike Outdoor Nationals were held in Eugene, Oregon earlier this month and Burlington’s Kellen Winters competed in the Freshmen 800 and mile.

Getting tripped up and a fall in the 800-meter affected the time Winters wanted but he still ran a 2:00.51. This placed him 22 out of 94 runners from across the nation. He ran a 4:29.23 in the 1 mile with a 4:09.62 split at the 1500 and a 4:27.45 at the 1600-meter mark. This is a personal best. Placing him 12th out of 64 runners.

Winters wrapped up his freshman seasons with a team and individual title in 2A Cross Country and individual titles in the 800-meter, mile, two mile and 4X800 relay in outdoor Track and Field. He also broke the Burlington school’s mile record and helped break the 4X800 and Sprint Medley Relays.
