• Police Report

The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

Apr. 13 —An officer assisted the general public on North Eighth Street.

A traffic complaint on Golf Course Road. Unable to locate.
An officer assisted another agency at the Big Horn County Sheriff’s office on Murphy Street.

A larceny was reported on South Third Street.

Apr. 14 — An officer assisted the general public at the Big Horn County Sheriff’s office on Murphy Street.

Apr. 16—A burglary alarm was reported on South Fourth Street, involving residential or commercial premises.
An officer responded to assist a member of the public at MTR Ranch Supply. The reporting party stated that she had spilled approximately two gallons of fuel on the ground while refueling earlier that morning and inquired whether any measures should be taken to treat the spill.

A missing dog was reported on South Seventh Street.

An officer initiated activity in response to a report of suspicious circumstances at the intersection of C Street and South Ninth Street, where town crew members located a baggie containing an unknown substance.

An officer initiated activity at the Basin Post Office on C Street in reference to reported property damage occurring between the Post Office and the Sheriff’s Office.

An officer responded to a civil matter at the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office involving the issuance of a trespass order.

An officer responded to a R.E.D.D.I. report at Mile Post 197 on North Fourth Street regarding a red Dodge truck observed near the south end of Basin. The reporting party advised that a younger male driver had been weaving and unable to maintain a single lane while traveling between Greybull and Basin prior to pulling over to the side of the road.

Apr. 17 — An officer responded to a utility call at the Big Horn County Fairgrounds regarding water running behind the grandstands.

An officer provided information to a reporting party on Big Horn Avenue regarding an accident at her property.
Missing property was reported on South Sixth Street.

An officer responded to a report of fraud at State Security Bank on South Fourth Street involving a fraudulent check.

An officer initiated activity at North Fourth Street in order to assist the Forest Service.

An officer responded to a utility call on Cheyenne Street regarding a request to shut off water service at a residence.

An officer assisted the public on North Eighth Street regarding a caller requesting assistance related to his girlfriend.

Vanessa Shian Weaver was arrested for bond revocation.

Apr. 18 — An officer responded to a citizen complaint at the Wyoming Retirement Center on U.S. Highway 16/20 requesting officer assistance.

An officer initiated activity at the intersection of Center Street and Antelope Street regarding a reported animal bite.

Apr. 19 — An officer assisted the general public on South Sixth Street.

An officer responded to a report of a hit-and-run incident on A Street involving property damage.

A loose dog was reported on South Sixth Street.

• Sheriff's Report

April 13 - 12:15 a.m.: Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office was unable to locate a suspicious person reported at Shell Falls on Highway 14 in Shell. 

9:24 a.m.: A K9 Search was conducted at Greybull High School on North Sixth Street in Greybull. 

3:43 p.m.: Trespassing was reported on Lane 45 in Basin. 

5:21 p.m.: Field contact was made at Greybull High School on North Sixth Street in Greybull. 

10:32 p.m.: A cow was reported out on Highway 30 in Otto. 

April 14 - 1:33 p.m.: BHCSO was unable to make contact on a call to assist Department of Family Services on Lane 53. 

6:01 p.m.: Accidental property damage was reported on Highway 30 in Otto where a vehicle went through a fence. 

6:29 p.m.: A wildlife encounter on Coyote Drive in Greybull was referred to another agency. 

April 15 - 4:55 a.m.: Three horses were reported out on Highway 30 in Burlington. 

11:48 a.m.: An officer initiated activity regarding horses on the highway at Highway 30 and Lane 37 in Burlington. 

12:06 p.m.: A dog bite was reported on Lane 39 in Basin. 

5:33 p.m.: A caller reported horses were loose on their property on Lane 39 in Otto. 

7:44 p.m.: BHCSO dispatch assisted Cody Police Department in an attempt to locate. 

8:41 p.m.: A sheep was reported out at Highway 14/16/20 and Highway 310 in Greybull. 

April 16 - 8:02 p.m.: BHCSO escorted elementary students to the museum in Cody. 

1:01 p.m.: A scam was reported to BHCSO on Murphy Street in Basin.

5:51 p.m.: A suspicious vehicle was reported on Lane 36.5 in Greybull. 

April 17 - 6:41 a.m.: A utility call was made regarding water running behind the grandstands at Big Horn County Fairgrounds on Holdrege Avenue in Basin. 

9:55 a.m.: A civil standby was requested at the Greybull Rodeo Grounds on Road 26 in Greybull. 

1:16 p.m.:  A traffic complaint was made on Highway 30 in Otto. 

4:45 p.m.: Big Horn County Search and Rescue was called to assist an individual on the mountain.

April 18 - 8:10 a.m.: Cattle were reported out at Highway 30 and Road Nine in Burlington. 

7:09 p.m.: Community relations were conducted at Burlington Schools on School Avenue in Burlington. 

7:32 p.m.: A caller reported a semi truck ran them off the road on Highway 20 South in Greybull. 

8:05 p.m.: An animal bite was reported at Center Street and Antelope Street in Basin. 

8:07 p.m.: BHCSO assisted Basin Police Department at Center Street and Antelope Street in Basin. 

April 19 - 11:14 a.m.: Lost property was reported to BHCSO dispatch.

5:18 p.m.: A miscellaneous wood fire was reported on Horseshoe Lane in Greybull, cleared by patrol. 

8:56 p.m.: BHCSO assisted a motorist at Highway 310 and Highway 20 in Greybull. 

ARRESTS

Jayson Alexander Araiza Atilano of Greybull was arrested in Emblem on Monday, April 13 for interference with a peace officer and anonymous lewd phone calls, bailed after two days. 

 • Circuit Court

Recent court fines and sentences handed down or bonds forfeited in the circuit court of Judge Edward G. Luhm: 

Angelina Bontadelli, Lovell, fail to provide proof of liability insurance; $570, drive while license cancelled, suspended, deemed invalid or revoked if not suspended for 31-5-229 or 31-5-233; $450, valid certificate of title, certificate of registration, and license plates/temp permit required; $150.

Camilo Ramirez-Santiago, Burlington, DUI: Alcohol - Incapable of safely driving - 2nd off w/in 10 years

Nancy K Ottinger, Lovell, sell/furnish alcohol to person under 21; $570.

Staci Briscoe, Basin, superintendent’s speed zone (6+ mph over).

Speeding 70 mph zone:

Haley Hernandez, Powell, $190.
