• Police Report

The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

Mar. 9 — An officer initiated activity regarding an ordinance violation at South Ninth Street.

Officer initiated activity regarding an ordinance violation on Zane Avenue.
Officer initiated activity regarding an ordinance violation at Basin Police Department at South Third Street.

An officer initiated activity regarding an ordinance violation at South Ninth Street.

Mar. 11 —A loose dog at Basin Town Hall was reported.

A suspicious person was reported at Security State Bank on South Fourth Street.

Mar. 12 — An officer initiated activity regarding a civil matter at Atwood Family Funeral Home on C Street.

A scam was reported on South Eighth Street.

An officer assisted the general public on South 10th Street.

A lost dog was reported on E Wyoming Avenue.

A citizen complaint occurred at Absaroka Head Start Basin-Greybull on Rue Avenue.

A harassment report occurred at Family Dollar on North Fifth Street.

Mar. 13 — A citizen complaint occurred on West B Street.

A citizen complaint occurred at Family Dollar on North Fifth Street.

A suspicious person report was taken about some kids going into an abandoned trailer on Montana Avenue.

Mar. 14 —An officer initiated activity regarding an ordinance violation at South Fifth Street.

Mar. 15 —An officer assisted an individual who was locked out of his car, a parked blue jeep at Overland Express Mart on North Fourth Street.

• Sheriff's Report

The following calls were received by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office: (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the Court:

March 9 – 9:56 a.m.: Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office helped with livestock traffic control at Road 29 and Highway 14 in Shell. 

10:37 a.m.: BHCSO assisted the public with returning property on Road 10 in Emblem. 

1:34 p.m.: Dispatch took a report of a lost black Lab named Shadow on Lane 42 in Basin. 

March 10 – 9:31 p.m.: BHCSO assisted Basin Police Department at West B Street in Basin. 

March 11 – 1:32 a.m.: A rapid SOS ping at Martin Apartments – Syringa Property on North Eighth Street in Basin was cleared. 

9:51 a.m.: A Sheriff’s sale was conducted at Big Horn County Courthouse on C Street in Basin. 

10:35 a.m.: A scam was reported outside of Big Horn County. 

10:10 p.m.: Shots fired were reported on Orchard Bench Road in Basin, cleared by patrol. 

March 12 – 7:33 a.m.: An officer assisted a motorist on Highway 310 in Greybull. 

8:26 a.m.: BHCSO was called to assist with a civil matter at Atwood Family Funeral Home on C Street in Basin. 

8:28 a.m.: An officer assisted with a flat tire on Highway 310 in Greybull. 

11:20 a.m.: An abandoned vehicle was reportedly towed from Highway 14 in Shell. 

1:46 p.m.: A vehicle was reported broken down at Highway 310 and Highway 20 in Greybull. 

2:16 p.m.: A barn full of hay was reported on fire on Highway 30 in Burlington. 

2:24 p.m.: A traffic complaint was made on Highway 30 in Burlington. 

3:19 p.m.: Rocks and debris were reported as a Traffic hazard on Highway 14 in Shell. 

9:33 p.m.: An extra patrol was conducted on Orchard Bench Road in Basin. 

10:13 p.m.: BHCSO dispatch assisted Park County Sheriff’s Office. 

March 13 – 6:12 a.m.: A domestic dispute was reported on Elm Avenue in Burlington. 

6:26 p.m.: A caller reported goats in their yard on Cemetery Road in Greybull. 

8:33 p.m.: Cows were reported out on Highway 14 in Greybull. 

March 14 – 12:52 a.m.: Accidental property damage of a meter box at Husky Avenue and Farmers Street in Burlington was reported. 

6:41 a.m.: An officer stopped to assist a motorist with their hazards on at Greybull River Road and Highway 30 in Greybull, they were already waiting for a tow.

11:06 a.m.: A caller reported they had hit a power pole on Farmer Street in Burlington earlier in the day. 

1:05 p.m.: A citizen complaint was taken from South Sherman Avenue in Manderson. 

6:18 p.m.: A citizen complaint was taken from South Sherman Avenue in Manderson. 

March 15 – 9:37 a.m.: A semi was reported working on brake troubles at Highway 310 and Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull.
