Action-packed Homecoming week on tap for Rebels

“Through the Decades” is the theme of Riverside Middle High School’s Homecoming celebration this year, with events scheduled from Monday, Sept. 29 through Friday, Oct. 3. 

‘Merica Monday kicks off dress-up days, with students and staff asked to wear red, white and blue. 

Tuesday starts the Coin Competition, with proceeds to benefit breast cancer research. Each class will have its own jar in which to collect donations throughout the week. The RHS netters will head to Greybull for the annual volleyball Pink Game with JV at 5 p.m. and varsity at 6 p.m. Dress-up is Pink Day in support. 

The Homecoming court will be announced Wednesday during guided reading time at 12:45 p.m. Generation Day has been scheduled for dress-up, with classes assigned in accordance from middle schoolers as babies to seniors as senior citizens. 

The parade will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. The route will run down C Street past the courthouse and out onto Fourth Street, starting and ending at the football field. Dress-up theme is Throwback Thursday. After the parade, students will participate in Homecoming games on the track and field and partake in the Junior Class Chili Feed from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Burning of the R is scheduled for 8 p.m. 

Friday, the football teams will host Ten Sleep — RMS at 5 p.m. and RHS at 7 p.m. Rebel Gear is planned for dress-up. Homecoming king and queen will be announced at half-time. The Homecoming dance will follow at 10 p.m. in the RMHS commons.
