The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

July 1 — Officer assisted the general public at the Basin PD.

A VIN inspection was done at the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office (BHCSO).

Extra patrol was done at the Basin Boat Ramp.

Business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

July 2 — Officer assisted general public on South Fifth Street.

Officer assisted an accident with property damage at Basin Market.

Officer assisted the general public on South Seventh Street.

Officer assisted the general public on South Sixth Street.

Two ordinances were enforced on West B Street.

Traffic hazard on Montana Avenue and South Fourth Street.

A VIN inspection was done at BHCSO. 

July 3 — Found property on South Fifth Street.

Three VIN inspections were done at the BHCSO.

BHCSO received a call with a question regarding fireworks.

Lost dog on South Sixth Street.

Traffic complaint was received on South Fourth Street.

July 4 —  Possible accident at the BHCSO.

Business check was done at Basin Market.

A Yorkie was found on South Fourth Street and South Street.

July 5 — A VIN inspection was done at the BHCSO.

Business check done at the Family Dollar.

July 1 — 12:15 a.m.: Deputies assisted another agency in Greybull.

6:34 a.m.: Deputies were notified of a downed power line in Basin.

8:18 a.m.: A welfare check occurred in Greybull.

8:32 a.m.: Criminal trespass was reported to deputies at the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Offices (BHCSO) in Basin.

10:24 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull.

10:53 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Burlington.

11:15 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

5:49 p.m.: A suspicious person was reported at Three Rivers Health.

6:31 p.m.: A welfare check was occurred in Greybull.

8:14 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency.

8:19 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency.

9:12 p.m.: Deputies performed an extra patrol around the East River Bridge in Greybull.

9:40 p.m.: Deputies made field contact with a member of the public at BHCSO.

July 2 — 1:03 a.m.: A business check was performed in Basin.

7:11 a.m.: An abandoned 9-1-1 call was received.

11:41 a.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Burlington.

12:31 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency.

12:40 p.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist in Basin.

12:52 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Manderson. A warning was issued.

1:04 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Otto. A warning was issued.

1:24 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

1:35 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

2:22 p.m.: Deputies assisted the public in Greybull.

3:01 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Otto.

5:33 p.m.: Deputies responded to a civil matter in Basin.

5:37 p.m.: Deputies were alerted to a fire in Burlington.

July 3 — 9:37 a.m.: A dog was found on the highway in Basin.

1:31 p.m.: A rapid 9-1-1 was received from a device in Shell.

1:48 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Shell.

4:11 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Greybull.

4:41 p.m.: A man with a knife, gun, and ax handle was menacing people at Meadowlark Lake in Ten Sleep.

10:01 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency.

July 4 — 9:55 a.m.: Cows were reported out on Highway 14 in Greybull.

11:04 a.m.: Information regarding a trespass issue was provided to deputies.

12:07 p.m.:  Not to be deterred from greener pastures, the cows were out on Highway 14 in Greybull, again.

6:35 p.m.: Deputies participated in community relations at Greybull City Park.

7:34 p.m.: A tire was reported in the middle of the road on Highway 14 in Greybull.

8:51 p.m.: A fire on the bluffs was reported in Greybull.

8:24 p.m.: Deputies participated in community relations at Greybull City Park.

10:25 p.m.: A small, tan, fluffy dog was found without a collar in Greybull.

10:54 p.m.: A two vehicle accident occurred in Burlington.

July 5 — 9:34 a.m.: Greybull Police shared a lost property report with deputies at BHCSO.

12:04 p.m.: A VIN inspection occurred in Basin.

12:25 p.m.: Deputies performed an additional patrol at the Wardell Reservoir in Otto.

3:25 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency.

6:58 p.m.: Deputies received a traffic complaint regarding a vehicle on Highway 310 near Greybull.

9:12 p.m.: A 9-1-1 call originating in Ten Sleep was received by deputies at BHCSO.

11:10 p.m.: A fire on Road 26 in Greybull was reported to deputies.

11:13 p.m.: Information regarding an overdue hiker travelling in the Cloud Peak area was provided to deputies.

July 6 — 7:58 a.m.: Cows were loose on Highway 14 once more.

9:43 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Greybull. A warning was issued.

10:04 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Burlington. A warning was issued.

10:14 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Burlington. A warning was issued.

10:26. a.m.: Deputies assisted the general public in Burlington.

11:15 a.m.: A business check was performed in Greybull.

11:32 a.m.: A business check was performed in Greybull.

2:29 p.m.: Deputies responded to a civil issue between neighbors in Basin.

3:27 p.m.: Deputies were notified to a downed power line in Basin.

7:02 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency.

7:43 p.m.: Deputies responded to reports of illegal fireworks in Basin.

9:32 p.m.: A car went head-to-head with a deer on Highway 20 South near Basin.

9:40 p.m.: A member of the public reported that she was without water at her residence in Shell.

11:14 p.m.: A hit-and-run accident occurred in front of the Stockman’s Bar in Basin.

July 7 — 3:36 a.m.: Deputies made field contact with a person walking alone on Highway 20 South in Basin.

12:46 p.m.: Stolen camping equipment was reported in Greybull.

2:32 p.m.: Deputies responded to a civil matter in Otto.

2:42 p.m.: Stolen items were reported by campers at West Ten Sleep Lake Trailhead.

4:21 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A warning was issued.

9:21 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A citation was issued.

9:21 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Basin. A citation was issued.

9:37 p.m.: Deputies assisted another agency.

10:48 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Manderson. A warning was issued.

11:09 p.m.: A 9-1-1 hangup was received from a device in Greybull.
