Harry Robert McNiven

June 16, 1949 – May 30, 2015

Funeral services for Harry Robert McNiven were held Saturday, June 6, at 10 a.m. at the LDS Church in Burlington. Harry, 65, died May 30 at his home in Burlington.

He was born June 6, 1949, in Greybull, the son of Walter Jay and Emma Helen Peterson McNiven. He graduated from Burlington High School and attended the University of Wyoming for three years.

He married Pamela Neves of Otto on Sept. 15, 1972, in the LDS Temple in Salt Lake City.

Harry farmed in Burlington all of his life. He served on the ditch board and held many positions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He loved to fish with his children and grandchildren, and he frequently visited Yellowstone National Park, where Old Faithful was a favorite spot to spend time with family and make new friends.

He loved telling stories and keeping people entertained. In the winter, high school basketball games were his entertainment; he loved watching the local teams.

His father, Walter Jay McNiven, preceded Harry in death.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela; his children, Jeffrey Robert of Kingman, Ariz., Matthew Jay of Burlington, Brooke Elizabeth Powell of Encampment, April Jean Fluckiger of Jerome, Idaho, Judy Anne Kotter of Columbia, Ky., and Harry James of Monteview, Idaho; his mother, Emma Helen Peterson McNiven; two brothers, Rodney Jay McNiven and Leonard Don McNiven, both of Burlington; one sister, Helen Darlene Moncur of Lovell; and 28 grandchildren.
