Winter survival skills presentations planned in Burlington, Greybull and Lovell
University of Wyoming Extension educator Melissa Cook and therapist Becky Myers are planning presentations in three Big Horn County communities next month that cover essential topics to ensure your safety, well-being and happiness this winter.
Open to everyone, the presentations are Wednesday, Jan. 3 from 12:15 to 1 p.m. at the Burlington Fire Hall; Jan. 17 from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. at the South Big Horn Senior Center in Greybull and Friday, Jan. 19 from 12:15 to 1 p.m. at the North Big Horn Senior Center in Lovell.
Cook and Myers will help you drive the winter roads more confidently with reminders for winter-ready vehicles, essential items for your car and strategies for staying safe on the roads — including when to stay home.
Did you know seniors can be more susceptible to hyperthermia in chilly homes? The presenters will uncover the secrets to staying warm and healthy in and outside your home amid Wyoming’s winter wonderland.
They presentation will also provide tips to help you fend off loneliness and isolation and turn the winter months into a time of joy and happiness.
