• Police Report

The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

Feb. 23 — A citizen complaint occurred at the Wyoming Retirement Center on U.S. Highway 16/20 South.

Officer initiated activity regarding an ordinance violation at South Eighth Street.

A domestic animal problem involving a dog occurred at Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office on Murphy Street.

A scam report was taken at the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office on Murphy Street.

A citizen complaint occurred on South Fourth Street.

Feb. 24  — A lost wallet was reported on South Eighth Street.

A respondent requested assistance from Law Enforcement at the Big Horn County Sheriff’s office on Murphy Street.

An officer initiated activity at North Fourth Street with the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Feb. 25 — Officer initiated activity on Montana Avenue regarding an ordinance issue.

Twelve sheep were found on Wyoming Highway 30 in respondent’s yard.

A Medicare/Medicaid scam was reported at Big Horn Sheriff’s office on Murphy Street.

Feb. 26 — Broken glass in the street was reported on South Sixth Street.

Officer initiated activity on Montana Avenue regarding an ordinance investigation.

Officer initiated activity on Holdrege Avenue regarding an ordinance violation.

Feb. 27 — A caller reported they would be moving sheep at Mile Post 1 on Wyoming Highway 30.

• Sheriff's Report

The following calls were received by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office: (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the Court:

Feb. 23 – 4:03 p.m.: A scam was reported to Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office dispatch. 

6:03 p.m.: Officers were unable to locate the subject of a R.E.D.D.I. report on Highway 14/16/20 in Emblem. 

7:01 p.m.: Property damage was reported to BHCSO on Murphy Street in Basin.

Feb. 24 – 10:37 a.m.: A civil standby was requested on Faye Street in Greybull. 

7:58 p.m.: BHCSO assisted Wyoming Highway Patrol at North Fourth Street and North Street in Basin. 

9:27 p.m.: Cows were reported out on Highway 30 in Burlington. 

Feb. 25 – 8:58 a.m.: An officer assisted a motorist on Orchard Bench Road in Basin. 

10:30 a.m.: Dispatch assisted the public at Maverik Country Store on North Sixth Street in Greybull. 

2:17 p.m.: A traffic complaint was made on a driver reportedly speeding and passing unsafely on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

6:01 p.m.: A suspicious person was reported on Center Avenue in Manderson, cleared by patrol. 

7:21 p.m.: Boxes were reported as a traffic hazard on North Sixth Street in Greybull. 

8:57 p.m.: Black cows were reported out on Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull. 

Feb. 26 – 2:15 p.m.: Sheep were reported on the move at Mount View Cemetery on Highway 30 in Basin. 

2:36 p.m.: A lost gun was reported at Wardell Reservoir on Lane 49 in Burlington. 

3:10 p.m.: BHCSO was informed that Montana Limestone would be setting off blasts outside of Big Horn County. 

4:25 p.m.: An officer initiated a K9 search at Jr’s Storage on Industrial Avenue in Greybull. 

9:59 p.m.: BHCSO assisted Wyoming Highway Patrol at Highway 20 South and Highway 433 in Manderson. 

Feb. 27 – 7:49 a.m.: Cows were reported out on Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull.

1:57 p.m.: A controlled burn was reported out of control on Lane 34 in Greybull. 

 6:18 p.m.: BHCSO assisted the public at their office in Basin. 

11:04 p.m.: An officer assisted a motorist on Highway 310 in Greybull. 

Feb. 28 – 2:29 p.m.: An out of control wildland fire was reported on Orchard Bench Road in Basin. 

5:56 p.m.: A civil issue was reported on Orchard Bench Road in Basin. 

March 1 – 7:25 a.m.: BHCSO dispatch assisted the public. 

9:43 a.m.: An officer initiated activity at BHCSO in Basin on a civil issue. 

7:13 p.m.: A suspicious vehicle was reported on Highway 30 in Basin.

Rebecca Speidel of Basin was arrested in Basin on Monday, Feb. 23 on a felony bond violation.
