• Sheriff's Report

The following calls were received by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office: (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the Court:

Dec. 15 – 8:31 p.m.: Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office assisted Highway Patrol on C Street in Basin. 

Dec. 16 – 6:59 a.m.: A traffic hazard was reported on Highway 30 in Burlington with a truck allegedly dumping gravel and blocking part of the roadway. 

7:29 a.m.: Cows were reported out on Highway 20 South in Manderson. 

7:30 a.m.: An officer assisted a motorist with a tire change on Highway 30 in Burlington. 

8:54 a.m.: A K9 search was conducted at Greybull High School on North Sixth Street in Greybull. 

3:33 p.m.: An extra patrol was conducted on Orchard Bench Road in Basin. 

3:45 p.m.: Community relations were conducted at Burlington Schools on School Avenue in Burlington. 

4:24 p.m.: BHCSO was unable to locate a traffic complaint reported on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

5:36 p.m.: BHCSO was unable to locate cows reported out on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

5:55 p.m.: A suspicious vehicle was reported on Highway 31 in Manderson. 

8:36 p.m.: BHCSO assisted Three Rivers Health on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

Dec. 17 – 1:07 p.m.: Dispatch handled report of a smoke detector going off at Greybull Elementary School on Sixth Avenue South in Greybull. 

1:34 p.m.: A tractor and field on Lane 36.5 in Greybull was reported on fire, Greybull Volunteer Fire Department responded. 

Dec. 18 – 1:56 p.m.: BHCSO assisted Greybull Police Department on Lane 36.5 in Greybull. 

3:47 p.m.: Big Horn County Search and Rescue was called to assist a hunter in distress on Red Gulch Road in Greybull. The hunter’s wife reported he had passed out while hauling out an elk but made it back to their truck. The husband refused care and the unit was called off. 

6:06 p.m.: A single vehicle accident was reported on Highway 30 in Otto where the 19-year-old driver failed to negotiate a turn, rolled their vehicle and were able to exit it themselves. Unknown injuries. 

Dec. 19 – 8:18 a.m.: Possible fraudulent mail was reported on Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull. 

10:53 a.m.: An abandoned vehicle was reported on Highway 14/16/20 in Burlington. 

2:48 p.m.: BHCSO assisted with a custody dispute at their office on Murphy Street in Basin. 

6:54 p.m.: A traffic complaint was made on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

Dec. 20 – 8:01 a.m.: A one-vehicle accident was reported on Highway 433 in Manderson. 

11:59 a.m.: A dog bite was reported on Lane 36.5 in Greybull. 

5:19 p.m.: BHCSO assisted Greybull Police Department with a possible domestic dispute on Fourth Avenue South in Greybull. 

7:14 p.m.: BHCSO was unable to locate a suspicious vehicle reported on Highway 31 in Manderson. 

10:45 p.m.: A group of dirt bikers were reported setting off fireworks or firing shots at Mayland Pond on Road 14 in Emblem. 

11:13 p.m.: An officer assisted a motorist on Highway 14/16/20 in Emblem.

Dec. 21 – 6:35 p.m.: A deer carcass was reported as a traffic hazard on Highway 30 in Basin. 

8:30 p.m.: Sheep were reported loose on Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull. 

10:51 p.m.: An officer assisted a citizen walking home on Lane 42 in Basin.
