• Police Report

The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

Dec. 1 — An officer assisted a citizen on South Sixth Street.

A resident on Hart Avenue complained of a male with a black dog on her property. She would like the officer to tell them to stop trespassing. No contact made; unable to locate.

Dec. 2 — A lost dog on North Fifth Street was reported.

Two calls were received about an older red hound dog at large by Basin Market. A warning was given.

Basin PD assisted the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office (BHCSO) on US Highway 16/20.

Two calls were received about a dog found on A Street.

Dec. 3 — Lost property was turned in at the Basin PD.

An officer assisted the Worland PD at the BHCSO.

A dog was found at the Big Horn County Fairgrounds.

Basin PD assisted the Wyoming Highway Patrol with a traffic stop at the fairgrounds.

Dec. 4 — A resident on North Fifth reported a missing dog.

Dec. 6 — A report of a missing dog on North Eighth Street was received.

• Sheriff's Report

The following calls were received by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office: (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the Court:

Dec. 1 – 12:20 a.m.: An accidental hit and run was reported at Maverik Country Store on North Sixth Street in Greybull. 

7:43 a.m.: Cattle were reported out on Greybull River Road in Greybull. 

2:44 p.m.: Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office assisted Wyoming Highway Patrol on South Fourth Street in Basin. 

Dec. 2 – 9:50 a.m.: Theft was reported to BHCSO on Murphy Street in Basin, found to be a civil matter where the caller alleged their husband’s ex-wife stole some things. 

12:12 p.m.: BHCSO assisted a motorist in Highway 20 South in Basin. 

2:38 p.m.: A dog problem was reported on Beaver Creek Road in Shell. 

4:10 p.m.: BHCSO assisted Wyoming Highway Patrol on Highway 20 South in Greybull. 

5:07 p.m.: Dispatch assisted Department of Family Services at BHCSO in Basin. 

Dec. 3 – A dog problem was reported on Lane 35 in Emblem. 

5:09 p.m.: BHCSO assisted Probation and Parole at their office in Basin. 

6:37 p.m.: Accidental property damage was reported on Beaver Creek Road in Shell. 

Dec. 4 – 10:21 a.m.: An officer was unable to locate cows reported out at Lane 35 and Highway 30 in Emblem. 

10:26 a.m.: An officer assisted a motorist at Desert Rose Mennonite Church on Golf Course Road in Basin. 

1:59 p.m.: BHCSO dispatch assisted Washakie County Sheriff’s Office. 

7:42 p.m.: A traffic complaint was made on Orchard Bench Road in Basin. 

9 p.m.: A citation was issued in a traffic stop on North Fourth Street in Basin. 

Dec. 5 – 8:19 a.m.: An accidental hit and run on Highway 20 South in Greybull was referred to another agency. 

8:34 a.m.: A single vehicle accident was reported on Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull, Highway Patrol responded.  A sign and power pole were damaged in the wreck, unknown injuries. 

10:26 a.m.:  A citizen complaint was taken at BHCSO in Basin.

2:37 p.m.: A domestic animal problem was reported on Highway 14 in Shell. 

2:44 p.m.: A missing firearm was reported to BHCSO in Basin. 

Dec. 6 – 12:54 a.m.: Deputies responded to a request for assistance on Rimrock Road. A man was found deceased; no foul play is suspected.

 2:04 p.m.: Community relations were conducted at Burlington Schools on School Avenue in Burlington. 

4:17 p.m.: A tree was reported on fire on BLM Road 1115 in Big Horn County, Shell Volunteer Fire Department responded and could find no smoke or flames at the location. 

6:11 p.m.: A vehicle reportedly slid off the road near Shell Falls on Highway 14 in Shell, Highway Patrol was notified. 

8:22 p.m.: A full-grown mountain lion was reported halfway between Basin and Greybull near Road 28, the call was transferred to Game and Fish.

Dec. 7 – 2:37 a.m.: BHCSO assisted Greybull Police Department at Greybull Avenue and South Second Street. 

9:37 a.m.: An officer assisted a motorist at Greybull Rest Area on Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull. 

1:44 p.m.: A trailer was reported stolen from Lane 40 in Burlington. 

6:58 p.m.: A citation was issued in a traffic stop at South Sixth Street and Greybull Avenue in Greybull. 

11:08 p.m.: Four or five horses were reported out on Highway 30 in Burlington. 

ARRESTS

C’Hair Charmayne of Arapahoe was arrested on Thursday, Dec. 4 for Fremont County Jail on a misdemeanor probation violation, to serve 61 days. 

Chad Lee Jones of Powell was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 3 in Basin for a felony probation violation, set to be released Monday. 

Camilo Ramirez-Santiago of Burlington was arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 2 in Burlington for a bond violation and failure to appear, set to be released on Monday. 

Cara Marie Thompson of Cowley was arrested on Monday, Dec. 1 in Basin for a DWUI and interference with a peace officer, bailed after one day. 

 

 • Circuit Court
