• Police Report

The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

Nov. 24 — An officer assisted a citizen on Montana Avenue.

Nov. 25 — An officer took a report of a threat on West B Street.

Basin PD attempted to issue a follow up ordinance violation on West Road.

An officer issued an ordinance violation on South Sixth Street.

Basin PD assisted a motorist on South Fourth Street and A Street.

A deer was reported on the highway at the Wyoming Retirement Center.

Nov. 26 — An officer assisted the public at the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office (BHCSO).

There was a dog problem on Hart Avenue Information was taken.

An officer assisted the public on North Sixth Street.

Nov. 27 — An officer assisted the public on South Sixth Street.

An officer assisted the public at the BHCSO.

Nov. 28 — Dead deer was reported on Crescent Drive.

Nov. 29 — An officer took information of a threat on C Street.

Basin PD helped with the Home for the Holidays and parade event.

Nov. 30 — An officer assisted the public on South Sixth Street.

• Sheriff's Report

The following calls were received by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office: (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the Court:

Nov. 24 – 1:14 p.m.: A dog bite was reported on Rairden Lane near Manderson. 

2:10 p.m.: Suspicious circumstances were cleared on Lane 38 in Burlington. 

3:34 p.m.: Dogs were reported out on Highway 30 in Otto.

Nov. 25 -- 3:43 p.m.: Dispatch handled a call for community relations to Burlington Schools on School Avenue in Burlington. 

5:07 p.m.: Livestock were reported out on Highway 14 in Greybull. 

9:21 p.m.: Livestock were reported wandering Lane 35 in Greybull. 

Nov. 27 – 12:12 a.m.: A horse was reported out on Rimrock Road in Greybull. 

5:46 p.m.: Lost dogs were reported on Highway 30 in Basin. 

Nov. 28 – 12:38 p.m.: Information was given on a civil issue at Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office on Murphy Street in Basin. 

11:34 p.m.: BHSCO assisted Greybull Police Department at South Fifth Street and Second Avenue South in Greybull. 

Nov. 29 -- 10:56 a.m.: Information was given to a landlord on how to properly notify their renters of intent to quit at BHSCO in Basin. 

1:55 p.m.: A dog was reported out on Highway 433 in Manderson. 

3:39 p.m.: BHSCO assisted with the “Home for the Holidays” parade and celebration at C Street and Fourth Street in Basin. 

5:03 p.m.: BHSCO assisted Basin Police Department at Basin Police Department on South Third Street in Basin. 

Nov. 30 – 5:38 p.m.: Officers were unable to locate a R.E.D.D.I. report made on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

ARRESTS

Jasmin Victoria Hayner of Basin was arrested on five misdemeanor charges on Saturday, Nov. 29 in Basin; DWUI, driving under suspension, compulsory auto insurance, improper lane usage and no seat belt; served two days. 

Grady Gerritt Swiftney of Greybull was arrested on Saturday, Nov. 29 in Greybull for felony bond violation, served two days.

 • Circuit Court

Recent court fines and sentences handed down or bonds forfeited in the circuit court of Judge Edward G. Luhm:  

Michael J. Harris, Lovell, meet or pass a stopped school bus – first offense, $440.

Timothy G. Defuentes, Lovell, violation of protection order, jail: 180 days, suspended: 180 days, unsupervised probation: 6 months, $770; domestic battery – first offense, jail: 180 days, suspended: 141 days, unsupervised probation: 6 months, $770.

John Marcus, Basin, expired temporary license permit/improper registration, $140.

Jordan S. Mickelson, Lovell, unlawful use of license, $250; compulsory auto insurance – first offense, $570.
