• Police Report

The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

Nov. 11 — An officer assisted the general public on South Ninth Street.

Nov. 12 — Basin PD issued two ordinance violations on South Eighth.

There was a dog at large on South Third Street.

Nov. 13 — An officer assisted the general public on South Sixth Street.

Basin PD issued a dog at large warning to a citizen around Riverside High School.

A citizen reported to an officer a lost toolbox in the area of Center Street.

A resident on North Seventh Street wanted to talk to an officer about a possible scam, the officer determined it was solicitation mail not a scam.

Nov. 14 — A loose dog was found and returned to owner on West Road, a warning was given.

A citizen on South Fifth Street wanted to ask an officer about a criminal trespassing order.

Nov. 15 — Basin PD assisted the Greybull PD with an angry customer at Ace Hardware threating, screaming and cussing at the clerk in the store for not taking a return. The customer stood in the parking lot not leaving and the clerk was concerned the customer would return.

Nov. 16 — An officer assisted the general public on South Sixth Street.

Basin PD was called concerning the need of a utility call on West Wyoming Avenue.

An officer issued an ordinance for a parking complaint on North Seventh Street.

A citizen reported a reckless driver speeding past them on a double yellow line and driving aggressively on US Hwy 16/20 South.

Nov. 17 — An officer issued an ordinance violation to the Wyoming Department of Transportation.

Basin PD was alerted to a dog issue on Crescent Drive, officer unable to locate.

An officer assisted the general public on South Sixth Street.

Basin PD gave a written or verbal warning to the resident of Crescent Drive for a dog ordinance violation.

Nov. 18 — An officer assisted the general public on South Sixth Street.

Nov. 19 — An officer took a report of a woman that was beating her brother-in-law on West B Street.

Jennifer Sue Riley of Basin was booked for domestic dispute.

A scam was reported on West G Street.

An ordinance violation was given South Eighth Street. Negative contact.

Nov. 20 — A loose medium to large sized brindle was seen heading south on South Fifth Street.

An officer responded to a carbon monoxide detector going off on South Sixth Street. Officer stated it was all clear.

Officer made a utility call for the Town of Basin.

There was a civil matter on South Ninth Street.

Nov. 21 — A resident on South Sixth Street called to speak to an officer.

An officer responded to a report of a driver slumped over their vehicle on North Sixth and Murphy Street.

Nov. 22 —A resident came to the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office to complain about all women.

Basin PD assisted another agency on US 16/20.

An officer received a complaint from the Overland of people in a black truck arguing over by the car wash.

Basin PD assisted another agency at the Stockman’s Bar.

Nov. 17 -- 10:54 a.m.: A controlled burn was called in on Road 40.5 in Shell. 

11:23 a.m.: Officers were unable to locate their subject in a call to assist the public on Main Street in Otto. 

12:28 p.m.: A scam was reported to Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office on Murphy Street in Basin. 

3:44 p.m.: Community relations were conducted at Burlington Schools on School Avenue in Burlington. 

4:31 p.m.: Horses were reported loose on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

5:07 p.m.: A business check was conducted at Smokehouse Saloon on Greybull Avenue in Greybull. 

5:17 p.m.: A business check was conducted at Lisa’s Fine Foods and Spirits on Greybull Avenue in Greybull. 

Nov. 18 – 10:19 a.m.: Dispatch assisted the public at BHCSO in Basin. 

1:42 p.m.: A traffic complaint was made on Highway 20 South in Manderson. 

2:32 p.m.: Livestock were reported out on Highway 31 in Manderson. 

5:16 p.m.: BHCSO was unable to locate livestock reported out on Highway 31 in Manderson. 

6:02 p.m.: A business check was conducted at Hiway Bar and Café on Highway 20 South in Manderson. 

6:22 p.m.: A bar check was conducted at Burlington Bar on South Main Street in Burlington. 

6:44 p.m.: Livestock was reported out on Highway 31 in Manderson. 

8:13 p.m.: A bar check was conducted at Smokehouse Saloon on Greybull Avenue in Greybull. 

8:32 p.m.: A business check was conducted at Lisa’s Fine Foods and Spirits on Greybull Avenue in Greybull. 

Nov. 19 – 12:07 a.m.: BHCSO was called to assist Basin Police Department in a domestic disturbance on West B Street in Basin.

12:35 p.m.: Livestock were reported loose on Highway 14 in Shell. 

5:16 p.m.: A traffic complaint was made on South Sixth Street in Greybull. 

6:47 p.m.: BHCSO provided information for Carbon County, Mont.

9:30 p.m.: A citation was issued in a traffic stop on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

Nov. 20 -- 5:40 a.m.: Cattle were reported on Highway 30 in Burlington. 

11:12 a.m.: BHCSO assisted Washakie County in an attempt to locate on Highway 20 South in Manderson. 

11:23 a.m.: A slash pile was reported ablaze prematurely at Medicine Lodge State Park on Road 52 in Hyattville, cleared. 

7:23 p.m.: A utility issue was reported to the Town of Basin on West B Street in Basin. 

9:38 p.m.: A domestic issue was reported on South Ninth Street in Basin. 

Nov. 21 -- 11:23 a.m.: BHCSO was advised of a R.E.D.D.I. report outside of Big Horn County. 

11:43 a.m.: A traffic complaint on Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull was referred to another agency. 

12: 01 p.m.: A motorist was assisted at North Sixth Street and Murphy Street in Basin. 

12:48 p.m.: A deer carcass was reported in the roadway on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

3:08 p.m.: A suspicious man was reported walking on Horseshoe Lane in Greybull, cleared. 

Nov. 22 – 10:24 p.m.: A domestic dispute was reported at Overland Express Mart on North Fourth Street in Basin where people in a black truck were allegedly arguing at the car wash. 

10:27 p.m.: BHCSO assisted Basin Police Department at Overland Express Mart on North Fourth Street in Basin. 

Nov. 23 – 7:19 a.m.: A pickup vs. deer accident was reported on Highway 14 in Shell. 

9:53 a.m.: BHCSO assisted Probation and Parole on North Eighth Street in Basin. 

9:15 p.m.: A rapid SOS ping on Orchard Bench Road in Basin was cleared.
