• Police Report

The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

Oct. 6 — An officer attempted but was unable to issue an ordinance violation letter to a resident on Montana Avenue.

An officer issued an ordinance violation on North Eighth Street.

Basin PD assisted the probation agency for an adult arrest on South Seventh Street.

Oct. 7 — A suspicious person report on G Street was received, but officer was unable to locate.

Resident on North Sixth Street complained of a suspicious circumstance; officer located and reported it was FFA kids out doing a food drive.

An accident with property damage occurred on North Fifth Street.

Oct. 8 — An accident with property damage occurred on West B Street.

An officer attempted but was unable to issue an ordinance violation letter to a resident on North Seventh Street.

Information was taken for a traffic complaint on Holdrege Avenue.

A dog at large was reported on North Fifth Street.

An officer assisted a motorist at the First Baptist Church on Wyoming 30.

Oct. 10 — A citizen complaint was taken at the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office (BHCSO).

Two lost dogs on South Sixth Street were reported; officer was unable to locate.

Cows were out on Wyoming 30.

Oct. 11 — Resident on South Sixth Street needed to speak to an officer.

A male yellow Lab mix dog was found on South Ninth Street.

An officer assisted a resident on South Sixth Street.

Oct. 12 — An officer assisted the public on South Sixth Street.

A citizen provided information about a house on C Street with its sprinklers running for two days.

Oct. 6 – 11:25 a.m.: Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office assisted Probation and Parole on South Seventh Street in Basin. 

11:39 a.m.: A cow was reported stuck in a cattle guard on Cold Springs Road in Hyattville. 

1:01 p.m.: Wyoming Highway Patrol advised BHCSO of a R.E.D.D.I. report outside of Big Horn County. 

1:14 p.m.: A dog at large was reported on Highway 14 in Greybull. 

3:02 p.m.: A truck and trailer with a flat tire was reportedly blocking the roadway at the substation on Greybull River Road in Greybull with help on the way.

Oct. 7 – 8:26 a.m.: Larceny was reported on Orchard Bench Road in Basin with a medical device allegedly stolen from a mailbox.  

11:48 a.m.: Trespassing was reported on Trapper Creek Road in Shell. 

5:51 p.m.: BHSCO assisted the public at their office on Murphy Street in Basin. 

6:08 p.m.: An extra patrol was requested on Sagebrush Lane in Greybull. 

7:05 p.m.: A traffic stop resulted in an adult arrest on Highway 31 in Manderson. 

9:32 p.m.: A lost dog on C Street in Basin was handled by dispatch. 

Oct. 8 – 10:38 a.m.: Dispatch assisted Highway Patrol at BHSCO in Basin. 

11:03 a.m.: An hit-and-run vehicle accident with property damage was reported at Wyo Ben on Road 26 in Greybull. 

11:48 a.m.: Officers were unable to locate sheep reported on the Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull. 

12:07 p.m.: Dispatch assisted Washakie County Sheriff’s Office at BHSCO in Basin. 

1:31 p.m.: Two sheep were reported loose west of Dry Creek Bridge on Highway 14/16/20 in Emblem. 

3:46 p.m.: BHSCO assisted the public at their office in Basin. 

4:07 p.m.: A custody dispute was reported at BHSCO in Basin. 

4:37 p.m.: Officers were unable to locate a reported domestic dispute on Highway 32 in Emblem. 

5:02 p.m.: Lambs were reported out on Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull. 

6:17 p.m.: A domestic dispute was reported at Greybull Motel on North Sixth Street in Greybull. 

7:50 p.m.: A car vs. fox vehicle accident was reported on Highway 14/16/20 in Emblem. 

8:02 p.m.: Property damage was reported to BHSCO in Basin. 

8:38 Field contact was made at Washington Park on C Street in Basin. 

Oct. 9 – 1:34 a.m.: An extra patrol was conducted on Sagebrush Lane in Greybull. 

1:47 a.m.: An extra patrol was conducted at Greybull Rest Area on Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull. 

11:12 a.m.: BHCSO assisted the public at their office in Basin. 

11:26 a.m.: Harassment was reported on Trapper Creek Road in Shell, with follow-up needed as the caller was presently on vacation out of the country. 

11:58 a.m.: An officer participated in community relations at Laura Irwin Elementary School on West B Street in Basin. 

12:03 p.m.: A missing dog was reported at Industrial Park on Fifth Avenue West in Greybull. 

1:58 p.m.: Property damage was reported on Road 36 in Shell. 

2:06 p.m.: A dog at large was reported at Greybull High School on North Sixth Street in Greybull. 

Oct. 10 – 9:47 a.m.: Suspicious circumstances were reported at Red Gulch Arena on Highway 14 in Shell. 

11:52 a.m.: Found livestock was reported on Highway 30 in Basin. 

12:08 p.m.: Livestock was reported being moved across Highway 20 South in Basin. 

12:54 p.m.: A 911 text at Shell Creek Campground on Forest Service Road 17 was cleared. 

3:04 p.m.: Sheep were reported loose at Highway 310 and Highway 20 in Greybull. 

3:17 p.m.: A suspicious circumstance was reported at TFG A&W Drive-In on North Sixth Street in Greybull. 

5:03 p.m.: A caller reported they would be moving cattle across the road at Highway 310 and Highway 20 in Greybull. 

5:39 p.m.: Cows were reported out on Highway 31 in Hyattville. 

9:45 p.m.: A vehicle vs. antelope accident was reported on Highway 32 in Emblem. 

11:33 p.m.: A citation was issued in a traffic stop on Highway 14/16/20 in Emblem. 

Oct. 11 -- 1:41 a.m.: An officer reported carcass removal from Highway 32 in Emblem. 

1:48 a.m.: An officer reported carcass removal (times three) on Highway 32 in Emblem. 

5:46 a.m.: A rapid SOS ping to Highway 433 in Manderson was handled by dispatch. 

8:06 a.m.: A suspicious vehicle was reported parked off Lane 40 in Burlington. 

12:06 p.m.: Information was taken from a Rapid SOS ping on BLM Road 1115 in Big Horn County. 

1:17 p.m.: A couple of leaf piles were reported smoldering on Road 34 in Manderson. 

3:43 p.m.: An accidental 911 call was taken at BHSCO in Basin. 

4:21 p.m.: Black cows were reported loose next to Highway 30 in Basin. 

5:50 p.m.: A caller reported an overdue motorist at BHSCO in Basin. 

6:20 p.m.: An open 911 call from the Greybull football field on North Seventh Street was cleared. 

7:03 p.m.: An officer conducted community relations at Big Horn County School District No. 3 on 14th Avenue North in Greybull. 

7:47 p.m.: Officers were unable to locate a westbound truck and trailer swerving out of its lane and allegedly hitting delineator posts on Highway 30 in Basin. 

Oct. 12 – 4:52 a.m.: A power outage was reported on North Street in Basin. 

6:13 a.m.: An officer assisted the public on South Sixth Street in Basin. 

8:42 a.m.: A caller reported loose cows had gotten into their hay on Highway 30 in Basin. 

4:35 p.m.: An extra patrol was made at Medicine Lodge Campground on Road 52 in Hyattville. 

4:46 p.m.: A traffic complaint was made on a northbound female driver on Highway 20 in Manderson. 

6:24 p.m.: Two dogs were reported chasing horses on Lane 35 in Emblem. 

8:32 p.m.: BHSCO assisted Highway Patrol in an attempt to locate.

ARRESTS

Clayton John Draggoo of Basin was arrested on felony property destruction related to damage of a cemetery lawn and compulsory auto insurance charges in Greybull on Thursday, Oct. 9. He was bailed on Oct. 10. 

Spencer Andrew Redland of Manderson was arrested on four misdemeanor charges; an act of physical control with BAC over 0.08, speeding in a 70 mph zone, bond violation and possession of a controlled substance in plant form less than three ounces, in Manderson on Tuesday, Oct. 7. He was bailed on Oct. 8.
