• Police Report

The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

Sept. 22 — An officer issued an ordinance violation on South Sixth Street.

A scam occurred on North Seventh Street.

Sept. 23 — An officer assisted the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office (BHCSO) with horses that were out at Basin Processing.

Sept. 24 — Property damage occurred at the Basin boat ramp, a report was taken.

An officer assisted the general public at Valley Hardware.

Basin PD issued an ordinance violation on Crescent Drive.

An officer issued an ordinance violation on North Eighth Street.

Sept. 25 — A citizen came to the Basin PD on Third Street with a complaint.

Matthew Paul Weant was arrested and booked and is being held at the detention center for another agency.

An officer assisted another agency on South Seventh Street.

Basin PD assisted the Greybull PD at the Greybull Middle School.

Sept. 26 — An accident with property damage was reported at the baseball fields.

A livestock issue occurred on Big Horn Avenue.

A male was jumping out in front of traffic on South Fourth Stret and West Wyoming Avenue.

There was a report of stalking on A Street.

Lost property was reported on West B Street at the Basin Community Center.

An officer assisted another agency at the Big Horn Basin Group Home.

 Sept. 27 — Basin PD assisted the general public on South Sixth Street.

There was a dog at large on Matteson Avenue.

A resident on Crescent Drive requested to speak to a specific officer.

A resident on Antelope Street reported a utility issue.

Sept. 28 — A report of one medium dog and one small dog heading toward the library.

An officer assisted another agency at the Big Horn Basin Group Home.

Sept. 22 – 1:19 p.m.: Larceny was reported on West Poplar Avenue in Burlington. 

3:09 p.m.: A member of the public received assistance at Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office on Murphy Street in Basin. 

3:57 p.m.: A dog was reported lost at Bear Lodge Resort in Sheridan County. 

6:08 p.m.: A caller requested assistance locating her husband, a truck driver, and was aided by dispatch. 

8:21 p.m.: Unwanted phone calls were reported on Highway 31 in Manderson. 

8:49 p.m.: Cows were reported loose on North Fourth Street in Basin. 

9:13 p.m.: An animal was reported lost on Forest Service Road 122 in Big Horn County. 

Sept. 23 – 8:04 a.m.: A cow was reported out on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

8:23 a.m.: Horses were reported loose at Basin Processing on Cloud Peak Avenue in Basin. 

10:10 a.m.: Officers assisted the public at Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office in Basin. 

3:22 p.m.: An officer assisted the public on Road 28 in Greybull. 

6:49 p.m.: Officers were unable to locate a R.E.D.D.I. report on Highway 433 in Manderson. 

8:04 p.m.: BHSCO assisted Highway Patrol on Highway 20 South in Greybull. 

Sept. 24 – 9:50 a.m.: BHCSO was called to assist Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office. 

11:23 a.m. A 911 hangup was recorded, the caller was advised. 

11:27 a.m.: A 911 hangup was recorded, the caller was advised. 

1:46 p.m.: BHSCO was asked to assist law enforcement in Medera, California. 

3:31 p.m.: The public received assistance at Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office in Basin. 

4 p.m.: BHSCO assisted probation and parole on South Seventh Street in Basin. 

Sept. 25 – 8:29 a.m.: An antelope carcass was reported as a traffic hazard on Orchard Bench Road in Basin. 

9:07 a.m.: Cows were reported out on Highway 14 in Greybull. 

10:03 a.m.: A vehicle accident was reported on Highway 36 in Basin. 

2:18 p.m.: A call to assist the public on Road 28 in Greybull was cancelled. 

7:13 p.m.: An officer assisted a motorist on Highway 310 in Greybull. 

Sept. 26 – Cows were reported out on Lane 38 in Burlington. 

10:16 a.m.: A citation was issued in a traffic stop on Highway 30 in Otto. 

10:45 a.m.: Livestock were reported on Highway 14 in Shell. 

12:51 p.m.: A scam was reported on Highway 14 in Shell. 

3:07 p.m.: Trespassing was reported on Orchard Bench Road in Basin. 

3:28 p.m.: Community relations were conducted at Basin Park on North Sixth Street in Basin. 

3:32 p.m.: An officer was reportedly flagged down at the Sheriff’s Office in Basin for field contact. 

7:15 p.m.: BHSCO assisted another agency on Road 43. 5. 

8:15 p.m.: BHSCO assisted Highway Patrol at South Big Horn County Airport on Hercules Road in Greybull. 

Sept. 27 – 7:54 a.m.: A caller from Trapper Creek Road in Shell requested a deputy deliver voluntary statements to their neighbors to fill out regarding a neighbor dispute. 

10:22 p.m.: Sheep were reported out on Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull. 

11:11 a.m.: A civil standby was requested on Highway 14 in Greybull. 

11:46 a.m.: Dogs were reported at large on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

2:06 p.m.: A dog was reported found via rapid message on Highway 32 in Emblem. 

2:38 p.m.: A dog at large was reported on Highway 32 in Emblem. 

8:01 p.m.: An officer assisted the general public on Highway 31 in Manderson. 

Sept. 28 – 12:32 p.m.: A dog was reported found on Highway 32 in Emblem. 

9:58 p.m.: BHSCO assisted Highway Patrol on Highway 14 in Greybull.
