• Police Report

The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney:

Sept. 8 — Basin PD assisted another agency on Orchard Bench Road.

There was a disturbance on North Sixth Street.

An officer assisted the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office (BHCSO) at the detention facility.

Sept. 9 — Basin PD assisted the general public at the Basin Police Department; information was taken.

Sept. 10 — A resident with a white gooseneck sleeper trailer called to let the officer know his trailer is parked with permission at the BHC Fairgrounds without plates. Will be back to put on the license plates. Information was taken. 

Sept. 11 — An officer gave safety training at the gun range for the Riverside Middle School.

Basin PD assisted the general public on South Fourth Street.

Sept. 12 — An officer assisted the general public on South Sixth Street. Information was taken.

 Sept. 13 — An officer took information from the BHCSO.

Sept. 14 — A white gray husky with collar was found on West East Street. The dog would not allow the officer to get close. Owner was found and given verbal warning.

• Sheriff's Report

Sept. 8 – 2:12 p.m.: The public was assisted at Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office on Murphy Street in Basin. 

5:35 p.m.: A rapid SOS ping from Sandy Row in Greybull was cleared as accidental. 

6:44 p.m.: A 911 text from Lake Adelaide on Forest Service Road 271 in Shell was reported as accidental. 

7:02 p.m.: A suspicious person on Lane 50 in Big Horn County was cleared. 

Sept. 9 – 8:32 a.m.: Cows were reported out on Highway 433 in Manderson. 

10:27 p.m.: A rapid SOS ping from BLM Road 1117 in Hyattville was cleared. 

Sept. 10 – 7:59 a.m.: Officers conducted community relations at Riverside Middle High School on W B Street in Basin. 

8:36 a.m.: Officers accompanied middle school students hiking at Porcupine Falls on Forest Service Road 146 in Bighorn National Forest. 

3:48 p.m.: An accidental 911 call was reported on Highway 31 in Manderson. 

6:09 p.m.: An officer assisted a motorist on Highway 31 in Manderson. 

7:55 p.m.: A lost firearm was reported Highway 14 in Shell. 

8:06 p.m.: A red Durango was reported rolled over on Basin Garden Road in Basin. 

8:49 p.m.: A found dog was reported outside of Big Horn County to the Sheriff’s Office in Basin. 

Sept. 11 – 7:56 a.m.: An officer conducted community relations at Big Horn Basin Skeet Club on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

11:48 a.m.: An injured fawn was reported on South Fourth Street in Basin. 

2 p.m.: Information n background checks was provided to the public at Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office in Basin. 

7:59 p.m.: White cows were reported loose on Road 28 in Greybull. 

Sept. 12 - 8:35 p.m.: A dead deer was reported as a traffic hazard on Highway 30 in Otto. 

8:47 p.m.: A traffic complaint was made on Highway 20 South in Manderson. 

8:59 p.m.: An officer assisted the public at Leavitt Reservoir on Bear Creek Road in Shell. 

Sept. 13 – 11:28 a.m.: A caller reported a hog in their yard on Highway 30 in Otto. 

1:43 p.m.: An officer conducted community relations at Riverside Middle High Schol in Basin. 

3:38 p.m.: Found animals were reported on Bear Creek Road in Shell. 

4:42 p.m.: A traffic complaint was made on South Fourth Street in Basin. 

Sept. 14 – 6:44 a.m.: A deer vs. vehicle accident was reported at Three Rivers Health on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

12:51 p.m.: A citation was issued in a traffic stop at South Fourth Street and A Street in Basin. 

ARRESTS

Spencer Andrew Redland of Manderson was arrested for one felony charge of burglary and misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance in plant form less than three ounces and criminal entry on Monday, Sept. 8 in Manderson.
