• Police Report

The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

Sept. 1 — An officer took a call about a water leak on South Eighth Street and Holdrege Avenue. 

A caller on E Wyoming Avenue said there was a lost hound dog at her house.

Basin PD assisted a motorist on US Highway 16/20 South.

A citizen called with a noise complaint of an 18 wheeler running its refrigerator unit on West B Street; police contacted owner and they agreed to shut down or move the vehicle.

Sept. 3 — An officer assisted the general public on South Sixth Street.

Basin PD made field contact on Wyoming Highway 30

Sept. 4 — A parking complaint was giving on South 10th street.

An ordinance violation attempt was made on South 10th Street.

An ordinance violation was given on South Sixth Street.

Sept. 5 — An officer took responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 16/20 South.

There was a report of fraud at the Family Dollar.

Sept. 6 — An officer made an appearance at the Basin Recreation Center.

Basin PD took an accident report with property damage on Crescent Drive.

Basin PD assisted the general public on South Third Street.

There was a suspicious circumstance on North Fourth Street.

• Sheriff's Report

The following calls were received by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office: (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the Court:

Sept. 1 – 4:36 a.m.: A flooding basement on Highway 20 South in Basin was reported to dispatch. 

4:40 p.m.: Animal abuse was reported to Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office on Murphy Street in Basin. 

8:36 p.m.: Accidental property damage was reported on Highway 20 South in Greybull. 

10:28 p.m.: A traffic complaint was made on a white truck speeding on Highway 20 South between Basin and Greybull. 

Sept. 2 – 12:58 a.m.: An accidental SOS ping was reported from Hiway Bar & Café on Highway 20 South in Manderson. 

2:28 a.m.: A report of flames on Greybull River Road was found to be due to a burn off of an oil well pressure release. 

8:29 a.m.: Suspicious circumstances were reported on Forest Service Road 27 in Ten Sleep. A woman from Sheridan reported that she and her daughter walked the Mistymoon trail Aug. 31 and heard yelling, as if to scare an animal, and two gunshots. 

10:55 a.m.: An accidental 911 call was made at Burlington Schools on School Avenue in Burlington. 

12:30 p.m.: Abandoned vehicle information was requested at Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office in Basin. 

5:53 p.m.: A two-vehicle accident was reported in Forest Service Road 24 between a white F-350 pulling a trailer and a white F-150 that collided on the narrow roadway. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were able to drive off the scene. 

6:42 p.m.: A lost wallet was reported on Beaver Creek Road in Shell. 

Sept. 3 – 1:11 a.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a citation issued at North Sixth Street in Greybull. 

7:56 a.m.: A small black dog was reported lost by the beet dump on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

9:38 a.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a citation issued on Highway 30 in Basin. 

1:18 p.m.: An agency assist was requested for Burlington Fire Department on Lane 39.5 in Otto, people at the scene had put the fire out by the time officers arrived. 

3:58 p.m.: A R.E.D.D.I. report was made on Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull. 

4 p.m.: A horse was found at Lane 39 and Road 13 in Otto.

4:07 p.m.: An officer assisted Highway Patrol at First Avenue North and North Fourth Street in Greybull. 

7:40 p.m.: An accidental 911 call was made on Highway 30 in Burlington. 

Sept. 4 -- 6:48 a.m.: A one vehicle accident was reported at Lane 53 and Highway 433 in Manderson where a Ford pickup drove off the road and through a fence. No injuries were reported. 

8:28 a.m.: A traffic complaint was made on Highway 30 in Burlington. 

9:39 a.m.: A suspicious man was reported walking Highway 20 South towards Greybull. 

Sept. 5 – 12:17 a.m.: Suicide hotline called in a report to Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office in Basin. 

7:15 a.m.: A school bus vs. deer accident was reported on Lane 40 in Burlington. 

12:01 p.m.: A loose dog was reported on Rimrock Road in Greybull. 

1:13 p.m.: An officer attended a community event at Burlington Schools in Burlington. 

2:16 p.m.: An officer assisted Greybull Police Department on North Fourth Street in Greybull. 

 2:34 p.m.: An officer assisted the public at Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office in Basin. 

2:53 p.m.: A lost wallet was reported on Highway 30 in Otto. 

3:50 p.m.: Officers were called to assist Park County Sheriff’s Office at Highway 14A and Lane 8. 

3:56 p.m.: A traffic complaint was made on Highway 20 South in Manderson. 

5:35 p.m.: A cow was reported loose on Highway 14 in Greybull. 

Sept. 6 – 12:52 a.m.: A utility call was made to Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office in Basin and handled by dispatch. 

7:02 a.m.: Hay in the roadway was reported as a traffic hazard on Highway 32 in Emblem. 

8:36 a.m.: A water leak was reported on Greybull River Road in Greybull. 

9:41 a.m.: An officer conducted community relations at Burlington Schools in Burlington. 

11:56 a.m.: Traffic control was requested at the Otto Cemetery on Highway 30 in Otto. 

1:15 p.m.: Injured wildlife was reported on Orchard Bench Road in Basin. 

7:18 p.m.: An officer assisted a motorist on Highway 20 South in Manderson. 

10:13 p.m.: An animal problem was reported on Orchard Bench Road in Basin. 

11:08 p.m.: A dispute over scaffolding was reported on Highway 20 in Greybull. 

Sept. 7 -- 1:10 p.m.: A dead deer was found under a porch on Shady Lane in Greybull. 

10:23 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a citation issued at 14th Avenue North and North Sixth Street in Greybull.
