• Sheriff's Report

The following calls were received by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office: (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the Court:

Aug. 11 – 11:03 a.m.: A lost wallet was reported at Burgess Junction. 

4:40 p.m.: A dirt bike accident resulting in a shoulder injury was reported on BLM Road 1117 in Hyattville. Emergency responders helped bring the patient to the road where they were then transported by Cody Regional Health. 

7:28 p.m.: Larceny was reported on Highway 20 South in Basin, with items allegedly taken from a home in the owner’s absence. 

Aug. 12 – 1:32 a.m.: A scam from outside of Big Horn County was reported to dispatch at Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office on Murphy Street in Basin. 

5:59 p.m.: Lost property was reported at Adelaide Lake on Forest Service Road 271 in Shell. 

9:41 p.m.: Fires were reported in the Hyattville area. 

11:06 p.m.: Field contact was made on Highway 20 South in Basin, cleared with an adult arrest. 

Aug. 13 – 10:32 a.m.: An animal problem was reported on Lane 42 in Basin. 

7:20 p.m.: A citizen complaint was taken at Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office on Murphy Street in Basin. 

10:10 p.m.: A found dog was reported on Highway 31 in Manderson. 

Aug. 14 – 7:20 a.m.: A water outage was reported on Lane 33.5 in Greybull. 

10:33 a.m.: Meeteetse requested aide outside of Big Horn County with a grass fire. 

11:33 a.m.: A dog at large was reported at large on Road 17.5 in Otto. 

12:55 p.m.: A traffic complaint was made on Highway 20 South in Greybull. 

2:15 p.m.: Three intermittent motorist assistance reports were made on Highway 310 and Highway 20 South in Greybull through 3:02 p.m.

6:37 p.m.: A possible fire was reported on Lane 42.5 in Burlington, found to be smoke blowing in from wildfires. 

11:44 p.m.: A traffic stop was made and a citation issued on Highway 14 in Shell. 

Aug. 15 – 8:03 a.m.: A traffic complaint was made on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

9:31 a.m.: An officer assisted a motorist at Highway 310 and Highway 20 South in Greybull. 

11:27 a.m.: Agency assistance was requested for DCI at Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office on Murphy Street in Basin. 

12:49 p.m.: A livestock issue was reported on Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull. 

2:37 p.m.: A citation was issued in a trespassing case on Road 30.5 in Greybull. 

3:32 p.m.: Dispatch requested officers be on the lookout for stolen vehicles. 

5:23 p.m.: “Just smoke, no fire,” resulted in a cancelled unit to a call outside of Big Horn County. 

7:51 p.m.: A trespasser was reported on Sagebrush Lane in Greybull. 

Aug. 16 – 4:48 p.m.: A citizen complained their mailbox was getting hit by a pivot at Orchard Bench Road and Road 28 in Basin. 

10:08 p.m.: A fire was reported spotted from Hunt Mountain Road in Bighorn National Forest, located in the area south of Worland. 

5:24 p.m.: A civil matter was reported on Road 29 in Greybull. 

7:56 p.m.: A dog was reported stolen outside of Big Horn County. 

8:29 p.m.: A citation was issued in a traffic stop at Greybull Avenue and North Second Street in Greybull. 

10:22 p.m.: A car vs. deer accident was reported outside of Big Horn County. 

ARRESTS

21-year-old David Eric Roy Mastre of Worland was arrested for charges of furnishing alcohol to a minor and bond violation on Sunday, Aug. 17 at 11:23 p.m. in Manderson. 

David Vincent Valdez of Cody was arrested for possession of a controlled substance in powder or crystal form on Wednesday, Aug. 13 at 12:15 a.m. in Manderson during a traffic stop.
