• Police Report

The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

May 26 — Officer assisted the general public three times at the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office.

A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

Extra patrol was done at the Wyoming Retirement Center (WRC).

May 27 — The Basin PD assisted with a dog that was hit on South Fourth Street.

Three VIN inspections were done at the BHCSO.

A business check was done at Family Dollar.

A traffic complaint occurred on US Hwy 20 South of a light purple international pulling a white van entering Basin.

There were missing items reported on South Fourth Street.

May 28 — A VIN inspection was at the Big Horn County Fairgrounds.

A caller reported one brown and one black dog tied together with a leash north bound on North Eighth Street.

An officer assisted another agency at West Road.

A dark purple or burgundy Jeep was reported blocking the back gate of a property on West B Street.

A calf was out on the road at MP 195 on Hwy 20 South.

A business check was done at Basin Town Hall.

A building check was done at Basin Town Hall.

May 29 — An officer attended to a wildlife encounter on Big Horn Avenue.

Basin PD issued a parking violation at Basin Town Hall.

An officer picked up packaged for the Basin PD delivered to wrong location.

Fedex dropped a package for the BPD at the BHCSO.

A resident at the Stockman’s Bar had a flash drive for the Basin PD to pick up.

A business check was done at Basin Town Hall.

Extra patrol was done at Mount View Cemetery.

May 30 — Seven VIN inspections were done at the BHCSO.

May 31 — A business check was done at Overland Express Mart.

An officer responded to a call about a lethargic fawn at the WRC.

June 1 — A business check was done at Valley Hardware.

An officer assisted the general public at the WRC.

A business check was done at Overland Express Mart.

An officer assisted the general public at the Basin Processing Plant.

Extra patrol was given at the WRC.

Extra patrol was given at Mount View Cemetery.

A business check was done at Basin Town Hall.

A building check was done at Basin Town Hall.

Extra patrol was given to Big Horn School District #4.

May 26 – 4:56 p.m.: A cow vs. car accident was reported on Highway 14 in Shell. 

5:39 p.m.: Sheridan Police Department received assistance at Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office in Basin.  

11:58 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a warning issued at Highway 30 and Lane 9 in Otto. 

May 27 – 7:38 a.m.: A domestic dispute was reported on Highway 14 in Greybull. 

10:04 a.m.: A fire sprinkler at Wyoming Retirement Center on Highway 20 in Basin was reported in testing mode. 

12:26 p.m.: A semi truck was reported blocking both lanes on Big Horn River bridge in Greybull. 

5:21 p.m.: A business check was conducted at Dry Creek Country Store in Burlington. 

6:56 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a warning issued on Highway 32 in Emblem. 

May 38 – An officer engaged in community relations at Greybull Elementary School on Sixth Avenue South in Greybull. 

3:37 p.m.: Officers were unable to locate a horse reported out on Highway 30 in Otto. 

7:25 p.m.: A calf was reported on Highway 20 South in Basin.

8:03 p.m.: A pivot sprinkler system was reported hitting the roadway on Basin Garden Road in Basin. 

May 29 – 9:47 a.m.: An officer engaged in community relations at Greybull Elementary School on Sixth Avenue South in Greybull. 

10:29 a.m.: A scam was reported from Road 40.5 in Shell. 

10:48: Officers assisted Highway Patrol at Greybull Rest Area on Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull. 

11:36 a.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a warning issued on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

12:56 p.m.: A stray cat was reported on South Eighth Street in Basin. 

5:53 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a warning issued on Highway 30 in Otto. 

6 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a warning issued on Highway 30 in Otto. 

6:41 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a warning issued on Highway 30 in Otto. 

7:08 p.m.: A pivot sprinkler system was reported hitting the roadway on Orchard Bench Road/Road 28 in Basin. 

May 30 – An accidental rapid SOS ping was advised on Road 49.5 in Hyattville. 

11:13 a.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a warning issued at South Fourth Street and Myrtle Avenue in Basin. 

3:40 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a citation issued at North Fourth Street in Basin. 

3:57 p.m.: Threats were reported to Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office on Murphy Street in Basin. 

4:48 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a warning issued at South Fourth Street and South Street in Basin. 

5:12 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a warning issued at North Fourth Street and Hart Avenue in Basin. 

5:30 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a citation issued at South Fourth Street and Myrtle Avenue in Basin. 

5:42 p.m.: Deputies assisted Basin Police Department at South Fourth Street and Myrtle Street in Basin. 

5:53 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a citation issued at South Fourth Street in Basin. 

6:20 p.m.: An officer approached a broken down vehicle on Highway 16 in Ten Sleep, its occupants reportedly had other help coming. 

7:54 p.m.: Suspicious circumstances were investigated and found clear on Highway 433 in Manderson. 

8:20 p.m.: An officer engaged in community relations at Riverside Middle High School on W B Street in Basin. 

10:18 p.m.: A basement motion detector burglary alarm was advised at Burlington Bar on South Main Street in Burlington. 

10:47 p.m.: A business check was conducted at Maverik Country Store on North Sixth Street in Greybull. 

May 31 – 1:31 a.m.: An officer assisted Greybull Police Department at Smokehouse Saloon on Greybull Avenue in Greybull. 

3:20 a.m.: Dogs were reported at large on Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull, officers were unable to locate. 

2:05 p.m.: An accidental 911 call was advised at Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office on Murphy Street in Basin. 

3:45 p.m.: A business check was conducted at Maverik Country Store on North Sixth Street in Greybull. 

6:51 p.m.: A welfare check was called on dogs on Golf Course Road in Basin, found clear. 

8:52 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a warning issued on Fifth Avenue South in Greybull. 

10:05 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a warning issued on Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull. 

June 1 – 2:22 a.m.: Officers assisted Highway Patrol with an accident on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

2:02 p.m.: A dog bite was reported at Deer Haven on Highway 16 in Ten Sleep. 

4:12 p.m.: An extra patrol was conducted at Wardell Reservoir on Lane 45 in Otto. 

5:24 p.m.: An accidental 911 call was made on Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull. 

8:38 p.m.: Calves were reported in the roadway on Basin Garden Road in Basin. 

10:14 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a warning issued at Big Horn County South Airport on Hercules Road in Greybull. 

10:48 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a warning issued on North Sixth Street in Greybull. 

ARRESTS:

Sydney Schuyler Marshall of Greybull was arrested on domestic violence charges at 8:30 a.m. on May 27.
