• Police Report

The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

May 12 — Three VIN inspections were done at Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office (BHCSO).

A gas line was hit on Crescent Drive, Wyoming Gas was called and gas turned off. Town crew supervisor told resident she was to call the Basin PD.

A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

May 13 — BHCSO assisted the general public.

An officer stopped at Three Rivers Health.

A female brown and black dog with no collar was found at Gottsche Rehab and Therapy.

May 14 — Three VIN inspections were done at BHCSO.

An officer answered questions from a caller on South Sixth Street.

An officer assisted the Greybull PD with traffic control for a crash on Greybull Avenue and North Second Street.

A person on East B Street is housing a lost small dog with collar until owner is found.

A building check was done at School District #4.

A business check was done at Basin Town Hall.

May 15 — Two VIN inspections were done at the BHCSO.

An extra patrol was done at the Wyoming Retirement Center (WRC).

A business check was done at the Family Dollar.

A building check was done at the Basin School Zone.

Extra patrol was done at Mount View Cemetery.

May 16 — A VIN inspection was done at the BHCSO.

May 17 — A business check was done at Basin Market.

An officer assisted the BHCSO with a traffic stop on C Street and South Eighth Street.

An extra patrol was done at Mount View Cemetery.

A business check was done at the Basin School Zone.

May 18 — An ordinance violation was given on North Sixth Street.

A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

An officer assisted with patrol at the Basin graduation.

An extra patrol was given at the Basin School Zone.

May 12 – 12:07 p.m.: Larceny was reported on Highway 14 in Shell. 

7:54 p.m.: An officer assisted a motorist on Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull. 

May 13 – 7:30 a.m.: Officers assisted Basin Police Department at South Fourth Street and Big Horn Avenue in Basin. 

8:44 a.m.: Cows were reported out on Highway 14 in Shell. 

10:33 a.m.: Fraud was reported on Highway 31 in Manderson. 

9:03 p.m.: An officer assisted a motorist who could not get their windshield wiper back on at Big Horn Coop marketing office on Highway 310 in Greybull. 

10:23 p.m.: A fire was reported near the railroad tracks on Road 30 in Manderson. 

May 14 – 2:50 p.m.: A rapid SOS ping was advised on Brown Avenue in Burlington. 

3:45 p.m.: Officers conducted a traffic stop and administered a warning on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

5:10 p.m.: Livestock abuse was reported on Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull. 

10:31 p.m.: A business check was conducted at Maverik Country Store on North Sixth Street in Greybull. 

10:43 p.m.: A business check was conducted at Maverik Country Store on North Sixth Street in Greybull.

May 15 – 11:25 a.m.: A criminal trespass notice was served at Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office in Basin. 

12:56 p.m.: Officers assisted Highway Patrol outside of Big Horn County. 

8:49 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a warning issued at Fifth Street and C Street in Basin. 

10:03 p.m.: Lost dogs were reported on Lane 40 in Basin. 

May 16 – 11:29 a.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a warning issued on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

6:25 p.m.: Officers assisted Basin Police Department on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

8:32 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a warning issued at North Fourth Street in Basin. 

11:20 p.m.: A business check was conducted at Maverik Country Store on North Sixth Street in Greybull. 

11:42 p.m.: Officers assisted Greybull Police Department at North Third Street and Fifth Avenue North. 

May 17 – 12:57 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a citation issued on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

1:22 p.m.: Livestock were reported loose on Orchard Bench Road in Basin. 

2:09 p.m.: A large rattlesnake was reported behind a BBQ on Lane 42 in Basin.

2:23 p.m.: A train was reported blocking the crossing on Highway 20 in Greybull; dispatch handled the call. 

3:14 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a citation issued at C Street and South Eighth Street in Basin.
