The following calls were received by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office: (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the Court:

 

May 5 – 12:19 a.m.: Officers initiated a business check at Maverik Country Store in Greybull. 

8:33 a.m.: Assistance was requested with a water ditch issue on Horseshoe Lane in Greybull. 

8:42 a.m.: A cow was reported loose on Trapper Creek Road in Shell. 

11:46 a.m.: Officers were advised of a license plate, frame and light lost from a motorcycle on Highway 14 near Shell on May 4. 

12:50 p.m.: Officers engaged in community relations at Greybull Public Library. 

1:55 p.m.: Deputies assisted the Forsyth, Montana police department regarding information given on suspicious circumstances on Fourth Street in Burlington. 

7:53 p.m.: An accidental 911 call was reported on Husky Avenue in Burlington. 

8:10 a.m.: A caller reported cows out near Shoshoni, the call was referred to Highway Patrol. 

May 6 – Cows were reported loose at Highway 31 and Road 43.5 in Manderson. 

2:41 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a warning issued at Road 43.5 and Lane 56 near Manderson. 

2:47 p.m.: A scam credit card call was reported on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

2:57 p.m.:  A property dispute was reported on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

3:06 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a warning issued on Road 43.5 near Manderson. 

5:03 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a warning issued on Road 43.5 near Manderson. 

10:36 p.m.: A 911 hang up call was handled by dispatch at Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office in Basin. 

11:02 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a warning issued on South Sixth Street in Greybull. 

May 7 – 1:32 a.m.: Cows were reported in the roadway on Highway 310 in Greybull. 

9:46 a.m.: Officers assisted the public on Horseshoe Lane in Greybull. 

10:03 a.m.: Sheep were reported loose at Highway 310 and Highway 20 in Greybull. 

10:34 a.m.: A license plate found outside of Big Horn County was reported to dispatch at Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office in Basin. 

2:45 p.m.: A lost wallet was handled by dispatch at Greybull Police Department. 

5:12 p.m.: An officer reported a suspicious vehicle clear after initiating activity at Highway 31 and Road 43.5 in Manderson. 

9:53 p.m.: A black cow was reported out at Highway 14/16/20 and Highway 310 in Greybull. 

May 8 – 5:26 a.m.: Black cows were reported loose on Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull. 

6:33 a.m.: A black cow was reported on road 14 in Greybull. 

1:03 p.m.: A welfare check was found clear at Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office in Basin. 

3:08 p.m.: A fire was reported on the south side of Highway 30 and Road 17 in Otto. 

3:52 p.m.: An accidental 911 call was reported clear on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

6:22 p.m.: An officer participated in community relations at Bulington Schools. 

10:49 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a warning issued on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

May 9 – 12:05 p.m.: Deputies assisted Game and Fish at Big Horn Couty Sheriff’s Office in Basin.

2:12 p.m.: A vehicle was reported stuck in the snow near Deer Haven Lodge on Highway 16 in Ten Sleep. 

7:44 p.m.: A deputy assisted Highway Patrol on Highway 20 South in Basin. 

8:16 p.m.: A hot spot of white smoke was reported on Beaver Creek Road in Shell. 

9:03 p.m.: A business check was conducted at Maverik Country Store in Greybull. 

9:32 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted and a warning issued at South Fourth Street and C Street in Basin. 

May 10 – 9:14 a.m.: A burglary alarm at Big Horn Federal Savings Bank in Greybull was found clear. 

12 p.m.: Livestock were reported loose on Highway 14 in Shell. 

1:43 p.m.: Cattle were reported out on Highway 14 in Shell. 

6:39 p.m.: A traffic complaint was made on a trailer with a smoking rear axle on Highway 20 South in Greybull. 

May 11 – A large herd of cattle was reported loose on Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull. 

7:29 a.m.: Dispatch assisted Highway Patrol at Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office in Basin. 

8:55 a.m.: A dispute over ditch water was reported on Horseshoe Lane in Greybull. 

10:10 a.m.: A deputy assisted a motorist on Highway 30 in Otto. 

2:12 p.m.: A cow was reported out on Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull. 

7:08 p.m.: A REDDI Report was made on Highway 32 in Emblem, officers were unable to contact. 

 

ARRESTS

Tessa Taneha Walbert of Emblem was arrested on child endangerment, possession of a controlled substance less than three ounces and MIP charges on Thursday, May 8 at 4 p.m. to be held for four days.

The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

April 28 — A VIN inspection was done at Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office (BHCSO).

Suspicious circumstances at Mount View Cemetery, officer assisted the town crew.

A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

A shotgun was stolen from a vehicle parked at a residence home on North Fourth Street.

A resident on South Sixth Street requested to speak with an officer.

A dog at large on Lane 42 was reported.

April 29 — A resident on South Sixth Street called with an update.

A VIN inspection was done at the BHCSO.

An officer initiated traffic patrol on South Fourth Street.

A resident on South Sixth Street needed the raw water shut off due to leaks.

A person came to the Basin PD to report the shotgun reported stolen had been found.

April 30 — A suspicious circumstance occurred on South Seventh Street.

An officer assisted public works on Holdrege Avenue and South Seventh Street.

Property damage was reported on Crest Avenue.

A VIN inspection was done at the BHCSO.

Extra patrol was done at Mount View Cemetery.

Extra patrol was done at School District #4.

May 1 — Extra patrol was done at Mount View Cemetery.

Extra patrol was done at the Raw Water Pond.

A lost dog was seen on North Fourth Street.

Civil standby occurred on Big Horn Avenue.

Basin PD assisted the general public on North Eighth Street.

A water leak occurred on South Fifth Street.

Extra patrol was done at Mount View Cemetery.

May 2 — A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

An officer assisted another agency to assist in traffic control for the town crew on South Fourth Street and B Street.

A VIN inspection was done at the Basin Police Department.

A VIN inspection was done at the BHCSO.

Information was received from a person on South Sixth Street.

Extra patrol was done at Mount View Cemetery.

Contact was made at the First Baptist Church.

Extra patrol was made at School District #4.

An officer assisted the general public on North Eighth Street.

May 3 — An accident with property damage occurred at Basin Market.

A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

Information was received from a person on South Sixth Street.

An officer assisted the general public on Big Horn Avenue.

Contact was made with the public on South Fourth Street and Holdrege Avenue.

A business check was done at Basin Town Hall.

A building check was done at School District #4.

May 4 — Property damage occurred on West B Street to the equipment shed at the track, door looks dented and partially open. It was determined that this is how the door always looked.

May 5 — Sharee Lynn Wynia of Basin was booked for a misdemeaner charge.

Four VIN inspections were done at the BHCSO.

Extra patrol was done at the school zone.

May 6 — Illegal dumping was done on South Sixth Street.

A VIN inspection was done at the BHCSO.

A resident on West B Street wanted an officer to stop and help with a piece of mail that could possibly be a scam.

A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

A building check was done at the Basin Town Hall.

A business check was done at the Basin Market.

Extra patrol was done at the Basin School Zone.

May 7 — A red hound dog with no collar was at large by the South Big Horn Ambulance Bay on North Sixth Street.

A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

Three VIN inspections were done at the BHCSO.

An officer did a patrol at the Basin School Zone.

A business check was done at Family Dollar.

Extra patrol was done at Basin School Zone.

May 8 — Basin PD assisted the general public on South Third Street.

A VIN inspection was done at the Big Horn County Fairgrounds.

A business check was done at Overland Express Mart.

Basin PD attended an activity at the school.

Business check was done on South Fourth Street.

Extra patrol was done at School District #4.

A building check was done at Basin Town Hall.

May 9 — A scam occurred at BHCSO.

A VIN inspection was done at BHCSO.

An officer assisted the general public on Lane 8.5 and Highway 37.

A business check was done at Family Dollar.

Extra patrol was done at Mount View Cemetery.

A building check was done at Basin Town Hall.

Extra patrol was done at School District #4.

Contact was made on South Fourth Street.

May 10 — Extra patrol was done at Mount View Cemetery.

An officer assisted the general public on South Sixth Street.

A dog on North Eighth Street was reported missing.

A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

Barking dogs were reported on South Fifth Street.

May 11 — A business check was done at Overland Express Mart.

A business check was done at Family Dollar.

A resident on South Eighth Street reported raw water issues.

Extra patrol was done at Mount View Cemetery.

An officer issued an ordinance violation on North Sixth Street.

A building check was done at School District #4.
