The following calls were received by the Basin Police Department last week (Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney):

February 17 — A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

Extra patrol was done at Mount View Cemetery.

Officer assisted the public at the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office (BHCSO).

A dog at large was reported.

Officer attended a community event at the school gym.

A business check was done at The Family Dollar.

Extra patrol was done at the Basin School.

February 18 — Officer assisted another agency on C Street.

Basin PD assisted the public at the BHCSO.

 A fraud alert occurred at the Security State Bank.

Officer assisted another agency on Lane 42.

Officer assisted another agency on South Fourth Street.

Officer attended a community event at the school to assist the public.

February 19 — An accident occurred on North Ninth Street; property damage only.

Lost dogs were reported on Lane 42.

February 20 — Two VIN inspections were done at the BHCSO.

A business check was done at the Family Dollar.

February 21 — Two VIN inspections were done at the BHCSO.

Officer attended a community event at the school gym to assist the public.

February 22 — Basin PD took a report of larceny that occurred the previous day at the Overland Express Mart.

Two extra patrols were done at Mount View Cemetery 

A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

Lost property was reported on Mountain Road.

A building check was done at Basin Town Hall.

A business check was done at Overland Express Mart.

A building check was done at Basin Town Hall.

A building check was done at the Basin School.

February 23 —  Basin PD received a report of about 1,000 sheep being moved on Highway 30 to U.S. Highway 16/20 between 8:30 and 9 a.m.

Officer assisted another agency on South Fourth Street in Greybull.

Basin PD assisted the public at the BHCSO.

A business check was done at the Basin Market.

A citizen complaint was received on North Eighth Street. 

February 24 — Smoke coming out of a basement window on C Street.

A VIN inspection was done at BHCSO.

Officer initiated activity at the Riverside High School gym.

February 25 — A VIN inspection was done at TCT on South Fourth Street.

A VIN inspection was done on Holdrege Avenue.

A building check was done at the Basin School.

A building check was done at Basin Town Hall.

February 26 — A building check was done at Basin Town Hall.

February 27 — Update on the RP occurred on South Sixth Street.

A business check was done at Basin Market.

A larceny call occurred at the BHCSO.

Extra patrol was done at the school.

February 28 — Four VIN inspections were done at BHCSO.

A VIN inspection was done at the Big Horn County Courthouse.

A business check was done at the Overland Express Mart.

Extra patrol was done at the school.

March 1 — Extra patrol was done at the Basin School.

Extra patrol was done at Mount View Cemetery.

Extra patrol was done at the Wyoming Retirement Center (WRC).

Officer assisted the public on South Sixth Street.

March 2 — A resident on South Eighth Street requested to speak to an officer.

A VIN inspection was done on South Fourth Street and West Wyoming Avenue.

Two business checks were done at the Overland Express Mart.

February 24 — 8:44 a.m.: Deputies responded to a domestic animal problem involving dogs on Beaver Creek Road in Shell.

9:36 a.m.: Deputies on Highway 20 South in Greybull initiated a traffic stop. A warning was issued.

12:43 p.m.: At Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office in Basin, deputies assisted community relations by issuing press releases.

5:31 p.m.: Deputies investigated a REDDI report on Highway 14/16/20 in Emblem.

10:12 p.m.: Deputies on Hart Avenue in Basin initiated field contact to advise a motorist of a tail light issue. Follow up is needed.

10:30 p.m.: On South Sixth Street/Third Avenue South in Greybull, deputies initiated a traffic stop.

February 25 — 12:26 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop on South Fourth Street/C Street in Basin. A warning was issued.

8:39 a.m.: Deputies on Highway 20 South in Basin assisted the general public when an individual was seen hitchhiking between Basin and Greybull.

11:25 a.m.: On Highway 20 South in Basin, deputies provided traffic control assistance while cattle were moved across the highway.

4:47 p.m.: Deputies responded to a civil issue at BHCSO.

7:28 p.m.: Deputies on Highway 20 South in Basin initiated a traffic stop. A warning was issued.

8:01 p.m.: On South Sixth Street/Fifth Avenue South in Greybull, deputies initiated a traffic stop. A warning was issued.

8:11 p.m.: Deputies initiated a business check at Maverik Country Store on North Sixth Street in Greybull.

11:45 p.m.: Deputies on Highway 20 in Greybull initiated a traffic stop at Club Dauntless.

February 26 — 8:50 a.m.: On School Avenue in Burlington, deputies investigated suspicious circumstances at Burlington Schools.

9:43 a.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop on Highway 310 in Greybull. A warning was issued.

12:58 p.m.: Deputies on Greybull River Road in Greybull responded to illegal dumping when an unsecured load left debris on the road.

1:44 p.m.: On North Sixth Street in Greybull, deputies initiated a business check at A&W Drive In.

2:13 p.m.: Deputies initiated a business check on Highway 20 South in Basin.

11:51 p.m.: Deputies on North Sixth Street in Greybull initiated a business check at Maverik Country Store.

February 27 — 8:45 a.m.: On North Fourth Street in Basin, deputies initiated a business check at Overland Express Mart.

10:26 a.m.: Deputies at BHCSO took information when an individual reported being charged for toll road usage during a time when their vehicle was stolen.

12:12 p.m.: Deputies initiated a traffic stop on Highway 14/16/20 in Emblem. A warning was issued.

2:49 p.m.: On Highway 310 in Greybull, deputies initiated a traffic stop. A warning was issued.

5:29 p.m.: A cow was out on Lane 40/Road 5 in Burlington.

7:23 p.m.: Deputies on Lane 44.5/Orchard Bench Road in Basin responded to a vehicular accident with a deer.

February 28 — 12:00 p.m.: Robert Wayne Ochoteco was arrested Basin and charged to serve time sentenced.

6:50 p.m.: On Orchard Bench Road/Lane 44.5 in Basin, deputies responded to a deceased deer in a ditch near an individual’s residence.

9:25 p.m.: Deputies assisted a motorist in need of a tow truck on Highway 310 in Greybull.

11:44 p.m.: Deputies on North Sixth Street in Greybull initiated a business check at Maverik Country Store.

March 1 — 7:15 a.m.: On Orchard Avenue in Basin, deputies responded to a broken railroad track.

8:15 a.m.: Deputies handled an accidental 911 call on Road 9 in Burlington.

12:14 p.m.: Deputies on Highway 310 in Greybull assisted Wyoming Highway Patrol with traffic control while sheep were moved across the highway.

2:16 p.m.: At BHCSO, deputies handled a 911 hang up call.

7:19 p.m.: Sheep were out on Highway 20 South in Greybull.

7:50 p.m.: Deputies on Highway 14/16/20 in Greybull initiated a traffic stop. A warning was issued.

March 2 — 2:29 p.m.: On Highway 20 South in Greybull, deputies initiated a traffic stop. A warning was issued.

6:29 p.m.: Deputies initiated a business check at Maverik Country Store on North Sixth Street in Greybull.
