Van Fleet arrested on probation violation

Boyd Van Fleet of Greybull was arrested on Thursday, Sept. 17 on a probation violation. 

Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Jeff Angell explained that Van Fleet was the subject of a compliance check, during which two K-9s from Ranchester, Wyo. located ammunition in both Van Fleet’s vehicle and residence in Shell Valley, in violation of a probation order out of Madison County, Mont. 

Angell explained that the recent probation violation was not connected to Van Fleet’s current Big Horn County, Wyo. case, where he is accused of sexual assault of a minor from an alleged 2006 incident. A five-day sanction was issued, during which time Van Fleet remained in Big Horn County Detention Center. Angell stated the recent arrest could affect Van Fleet’s probation moving forward, counting as a strike against him.
