Thiel wins district Elks Hoop Shoot competition

An 11-year-old Greybull girls has advanced to the state round of the Elks Hoop Shoot competition.

Ellie Thiel, daughter of Jake and Kerri Thiel, took first place in the 10- and 11-year-old girls division, outshooting girls from Powell, Cody and Worland at the district shoot held Jan. 24 in Powell.  

This is the first year that Ellie’s competed in the hoop shoot, according to her mother.

“She has been practicing and is eager to compete again,” said Kerri.

The state competition is Saturday, Feb. 7 in Casper.
