Riverside Middle School track coach and physical education teacher Mrs. Kelly Darling recently announced her retirement. After 20 years teaching the Riverside Rebels, Mrs. Darling is prepared to move on to the next phase of her life.
Outside her role as PE teacher and track coach, Darling was a National Board-Certified Teacher, a certification that acknowledged her talent not covered by state certifications. Alongside that, she is the chairperson of the Safety Committee.
“She [Darling] is a master teacher with an incredible work ethic, great sense of humor and an incredible team player.  She will certainly be missed at Riverside,” reminisced Big Horn County School District No. 4 Supt. Jory Thompson.
The district administration weren’t the only ones to notice Mrs. Darling’s value; her prowess was noticed by all staff members she interacted with. “Her dedication to BGH4 has been nothing short of amazing,” said Special Education Director/LIE Principal Katie Seeley. “She is a gentle and quiet leader within the staff.  The students always enjoyed her class, and they all love and respect. Mrs. Darling. She has a quick wit and a great sense of humor. She spent many successful years coaching track. Kelly had also taken on the role of leading our district-wide safety committee. Kelly is respected and will be greatly missed. We wish her all the best in retirement knowing she is going to be as busy as ever.”
