RMS posts wins in Ten Sleep, Greybull
The Riverside Middle School volleyball team traveled to Ten Sleep and Greybull last weekend.
“Outdoors Week is always a rough week for the athletes,” said Coach Laura Godfrey.
On Thursday, the Ten Sleep Pioneers hosted A and B games. The RMS A team won one set in Ten Sleep and lost the other two (9-25, 25-20, 7-15). Brynn Jensen led the team in serve accuracy in all three sets with 80%. Whitley Godfrey led the team with 77% passing accuracy and 12 assists.
The B team was victorious, 25-16, 21-25, 15-9. Hanna Shaw had an excellent serving game with 100% accuracy in all three sets. Embree Craft was able to pass the volleyball to the setter with 100% accuracy in all three sets in Ten Sleep. Mazi George led the team in hitting with 4 kills.
In Greybull Saturday, the A team fell to the Greybull Buffs in an exciting game of rallies. Scores were 20-25, 14-25, 8-15. Whitley Godfrey led the team with 92% passing accuracy, and 11 assists. Harper Juneau led the team in accurate serves with 85% and 10 assists.
The B team gained another win in Greybull with scores of 25-13, 18-25, 15-8. Embree Craft, Grace Vanderploeg and Kaislee Nyberg led the team with 100% serving accuracy.
The coaches are excited for both teams to continue to grow, and look forward to the upcoming games. The middle school volleyball team travels to Burlington Friday Sept. 19, and hosts Rocky Mountain in Basin Saturday, Sept. 20.
