Riverside Rebels vs Poison Spider Middle School
The Riverside versus Poison Spider middle school game at Cheney Stadium in Casper on September 5th was short and very sweet for the Rebels. It lasted less than two quarters, but Riverside put on an absolute clinic before the whole thing got called off.
Right on the opening kickoff, Kaysen Nyberg fields the ball and takes it 70 yards straight to the house. Just like that, Poison Spider was down a score before their offense even stepped on the turf. And Nyberg wasn’t anywhere near done.
A little later, he breaks loose for a 32-yard touchdown run, making defenders miss left and right. Shortly after, he passes the ball over to Solomon Thompson, who turns it into a 35-yard touchdown of his own.
By the second quarter, Riverside was pretty much pulling off whatever they wanted. Nyberg dropped back and launched a crisp 30-yard pass to Sawyer Triplett to put them right back in striking distance.
Then things took a rough turn. Poison Spider was already beaten up, and after a couple more players went down, they literally didn’t have enough healthy bodies left to safely play. With 4:55 left in the second quarter, Poison Spider had to forfeit the game. Riverside looked completely unstoppable out there today.
