Riverside Middle School Football vs Burlington

After a great start to the season, Friday’s road trip to Burlington turned out to be a tough test for the Rebels, who fell 41-6.

The heavy wind didn’t make things easy, and Burlington’s defense played solid football all afternoon. Between the Huskies staying disciplined and a few unfortunate turnovers, the Rebels just couldn’t quite get into the rhythm they had the week before.

Still, there were bright spots, including another big play from Kaysen Nyberg. The Rebels dialed up a reverse, and Nyberg found the outside edge, breaking loose for a 60-yard touchdown. 

The extra point kick didn’t go through, but Nyberg’s sprint gave the traveling crowd a fun moment to cheer for.

While it wasn’t the outcome Riverside was hoping for, the team has a great opportunity to bounce back next week. They’ll be back on their home turf for Homecoming against Hanna Elk Mountain, with kickoff set for noon next Friday at Jim Gibbs Field.
