Paintrock FFA chapter excels at state convention
It was another great state convention for the Paintrock FFA.
The Farm Business Management team, coached by Mr. Anson, was the state champion team and will be representing Wyoming at the 2025 National FFA Convention in Indianapolis in October. Lupe Jimenez won the contest for the second year in a row, Maycee McKim placed second, Brendan Powell was third, and Varissa Olsen was fourth.
The Parliamentary Procedure team, including members Avery Clifford, Eli Jensen, Maycee McKim, Lupe Jimenez, Nick Olmstead, and Wyatt Daly, was the reserve state champion team. Maycee McKim was also selected by the judges as the outstanding member for the second year in a row.
The Marketing Plan team placed third overall with members Vinaya VanderPloeg, Brooklynn Paxton and Johnna Clifford. Thank you, Mustang Mountain Vineyard, for your help with this contest.
The Greenhand Quizbowl team placed fifth overall with members Gavyn Cervantes, Jaxon Womack, Brinley Longshore and Denton Nyberg.
The ENR team placed third overall with team members Mason Rosencranse, Ridge Lewis, Alan Landis and Dawson Scott. They placed second in the team activity and Mason placed eighth overall.
The Mechanics team, coached by Justin Roussan, placed sixth overall with members Ridge Lewis, Matt Brown, Cal Reuter and Curtis Strohschein.
The Poultry Evaluation team placed sixth overall with members Nick Olmstead, Camden Schriner, Bridger McGinnis and Curtis Strohschein. The team placed second in reasons and Nick was third in reasons. Nick placed fifth overall and Cam placed 10th overall.
Charley Russell placed second overall in the junior high Poultry Evaluation contest.
With these efforts, the Paintrock chapter was fourth overall in CDE Sweepstakes.
Paintrock FFA was also a 3-Star Chapter and received the Outstanding Chapter Award in the Strengthening Agriculture division.
Paintrock FFA had 7 members receive their State Degrees. Maycee received the Retiring State Officer Scholarship for $500 and Mason received a $1,000 scholarship to Sheridan College for being the high senior in the ENR contest in March.
