The Paintrock FFA Chapter is very excited to share the stellar performance of its Farm and Agribusiness Management (FBM) Team at the National FFA Convention.

This October, the FBM team, comprising Maycee McKim, Brendan Powell, Nick Olmstead and Guadelupe Jimenez, returned home with impressive individual and team honors after a fun and successful trip to Indianapolis, Ind., where the National FFA Convention is held every year. The team as a whole earned silver, with McKim securing gold.  The rest of the team secured silver placement individually. The Farm and Agribusiness Management contest challenges competitors with a three-hour long test as well as a team activity where they use their understanding of economic principles, marketing, business records, financial math, and farm and ranch management.

The FBM team didn’t just perform well, the members and their advisor were also able to explore Indianapolis and all it has to offer. The team explored the Fair Oaks dairy and pig farms, toured the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway, visited the Indianapolis Zoo, and had a thrilling time at a haunted park for Halloween. The team would like to thank all the local businesses and organizations that supported this trip, it wouldn’t have been possible without their help.

While the nationals trip remains a highlight, the Paintrock FFA remains active throughout the school year. The chapter has done a variety of community services, including a trick-or-treat for canned goods and a highway clean-up. The chapter officers showed appreciation to local farmers and ranchers by baking goods and delivering them to the local producers.

Additionally, the chapter has been taking trips to the elementary school to read with some of the kids and recently hosted a Staff vs Member volleyball game. Last month, Paintrock FFA members traveled to Casper where freshmen attended the Fall Leadership Conference (FIRE) and President Nick Olmstead, and Vice President Varissa Olsen attended the Chapter President’s Conference (CPC).

Ultimately, the Paintrock FFA is in full swing this year, wants to thank the local community for all the support and is excited for what’s to come!
