Buys Bank Building
Mr. A.D. Schendel last week closed a deal by which he takes over for the A.D. Schendel Corporation, 24 Oil Company, Big Four Oil Company and Bruce Holding Company with each of the companies Mr. Schendel is associated. The Bank building is nicely located and regarded as an excellent investment for the Schendel Corporation.
Miss Fern Doyle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thurston Doyle of Hyattville and Mr. Donald Crall were united in marriage at Greybull on Saturday last. Both parties to the contract are well known in this section and will have the sincerest good wishes of many friends.
Mrs. T.K. Bishop on Saturday last received a message from her husband stating he and Miss Marion had had the pleasure of meeting President Coolidge during their visit to Washington.

The Basin Club Tuesday night went on record in support of the civil air patrol group being organized in Basin. The patrol’s aim of establishing the nucleus of an air rescue and home defense system for the public’s general welfare in the event of future wars was highly commended by the Basin Club.
Two Basin High School students have been named valedictorian of the graduating class of 1949. Both have received the highest possible grades in all their classes for four years. They are Miss Barbara Ellison, daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Floyd Ellison, and Miss Kathryn Whitlock, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.D. Whitlock.
Henry Craft of Manderson and G.G. Mobley of Stringtown, both of whom were transacting business in Basin last Thursday, stated that they have begun the planting of 1949 crops. Mr. Mobley said that he began drilling grain March 31. Mr. Craft began planting of sugar beets on the same date.

Dr. Peter Frank Tuesday night resigned from the Basin school board. He said in his letter of resignation that his professional, familial and social obligations leave him too little time to contribute as much effort to the school board that he feels it deserves.
Greater details regarding the planned additions to the Big Horn County Courthouse became known this week as the board of ounty commissioners announced it has instructed the architect to prepare final plans. The planners intend to utilize all existing space on all four levels of the present building. An elevator from ground level through the third story is to be installed at the back of the building.

An official for the company that supplies the Town of Basin with electrical power told the town council Monday night that they are taking the year 2000 computer glitch as a serious concern and taking all precautions against it causing any interruptions in service come January 1.
Charity Ann Alexander, a senior at Burlington High School, is the Wyoming recipient of the “Tools for Tomorrow” All-American Vocational Student Award. Alexander, who will receive a certificate and a $1,000 career advancement award, was sponsored by Coast to Coast of Greybull.
