Mr. T.K. Bishop has workmen engaged in making a lily pond at his garden on Seventh street. Last Fall Mr. Bishop secured landscaping plans for the south end of his lot and received from the east a large collection of plants and shrubs. With the completion of the lily pond, plants and fish will be placed in the pond and the whole arrangement should make this garden most attractive.
The operetta of “Yanki San” was presented at the high school auditorium on Friday night by the music department of the Basin High School, under the direction of Miss Blanche Ragsdale. The cast included:

More than 100 residents of Basin and Big Horn county have applied for charter membership in the new aerie of the Fraternal Order of Eagles to be located at Basin, it was revealed this week.
Government support prices on 1951 beans for Big Horn county were announced this week by Ross Brown from the office of the production and marketing administration. Government support on U.S. No. 1 Pintos will be $6.99 per hundredweight and on U.S. No. 1 Great Northerns will be $7.33. both prices are based on beans bagged, cleaned and on the car.

Fred Werner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Werner, last Thursday set his second school record of the season in track and field competition. Coach Jim Gibbs said Werner hurled the discus 131 feet 7 ¼ inches.
Basin high school students placed second at the Regional State Math contest in Powell. Mike Lopp, a freshman won third place individual honors. Mike’s score was tallied with that of Doug Martin and Bart Ingalls to give Basin the second place trophy. Other Basin students competing were Dan Zavorka, Tish Williamson, Jan Shimogaki, Hackie Gilmore, Les Cowan, Marty Wright, Dennis Graham, Betty Stulc and Debbie Gilmore.

The royal court selected at the Riverside Hogh School prom included, Dusty Lewis, Liz Kidner, Queen LeAnna Stanley, King Matt Vanderpool, Katie Bock and Toby Thon. Crown bearers were Jared Jares and Phoenix Montoya.
Five Burlington High School students, Brad Christopherson, Harry McNiven, Mike Winters, Jake Coble and Jared Alexander, teamed up for a second-place finish at the Sheridan Welding Competition. The team competed against 40 welding students from across the state.
