February 25, 1926
Messrs. Thos. M Hyde and A. W. Coons yesterday purchased from the United States National Bank of Omaha the building known as that of the Basin Building company, located just south of the Big Horn County Bank building, and a part of which is now occupied by the barber shop of Mr. F.P. House and the store of Mrs. Kimbro. The room formerly occupied by Mr. E.C. Burroughs, as well as a portion of the basement, will be occupied by the Rustler, which will move from its present location in the basement of the old Big Horn County Bank building just as soon as the two rooms can be made in readiness for occupancy.
Among the 39 victims of s snowslide at Bingham, Utah, on Tuesday of last week, was Wallace Preator, who formerly lived at Burlington. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Preator.

February 22, 1951
Owner and operators of New Holland Balers will be interested in a baler school to be conducted by the Spratt & Bayne Implement company in Basin next Wednesday February 28.
The 1951 home basketball season of the Basin high school Bobcats will be climaxed Friday night when a mounted bobcat is presented to the school during half-time ceremonies. The Bobcats close their season so far as home games are concerned when they entertain Greybull. The mascot is being given jointly by the Basin club, and the Basin Sportsmen’s club.
Private Vernon A Ellison, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Ellison, is the honor graduate student at Brooks army medical center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Ellison was graduated from Basin high school two years ago.
Larry K. Thayer, seaman recruit, United States navy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Thayer of Burlington, recently completed recruit training at the naval training center, San Diego, Cal.

Marcia Craft, 12, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Craft lost the end of the little finger on her right hand last week when it was caught in the bedroom door and had to be taken off at the base of the nail.
Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Moon were at the center of a large group of family members and well-wishers as they observed the fifty-ninth anniversary of their wedding. Their son, Wallace Moon of Denver, made the trip to Basin for the occasion.

Shelley Ridenour joined the staff of the Basin Republican Rustler this week as editor. Ridenour moved to Basin from Riverton, where she had worked as a reporter at The Riverton Ranger for most of the past 10 years.
Riverside Boys basketball team includes: Cody Jeffers, Dusty Lewis, Eric Godfrey, Mike Craft, Derek Query, Jeremy Wyatt, Zach Paxton, Dale Query, Austin Alexander and Brenton Paxton.
Riverside Girls Basketball team includes: Kattie Bock, Carrie Frisbee, Connie Vigil, Megan Dellos, Cassie Coronado, Julie Stidolph, Tawny Miller Jamie Jares Kelly Wittow and Nicole Jares.
Big Horn Lake has frozen over at Ok-A-Beh and behind Yellowtail Dam, National Park Service officials announce Tuesday. The extended cold weather caused ice to form in this section of the lake that usually goes ice free through most winter seasons. There is open water south of Frozen Leg.
