Lutheran church plans Maundy Thursday dinner, worship

Grace Lutheran Church in Greybull will observe Maundy Thursday with Communion Worship at 7 pm. on Thursday, March 28. Before worship, a dinner with lamb will be served in the church basement at 6 pm.
“Holy Communion is the meal our Lord Jesus has mandated for His Church and His Christians,” said Pastor Jais H. Tinglund, “and as such, it would be highly inappropriate for us to play-act a full Jewish Passover meal and set His mandate aside. The old English word ‘maundy’ means ‘mandate.’ Nevertheless, there is no reason not to have lamb on the menu, and we are going to. And just to make sure that nobody thinks we have gone all Jewish, and because we learned last year that some people are afraid to eat lamb, there will be pork tenderloin, also”
Everyone is welcome – for dinner as well as for worship.
