LIE School Supply Drive now through Aug. 13

School starts soon and, to help local students, Security State Bank is again collecting school supplies. 

Items of need for the Laura Irwin Elementary School students include composition notebooks, pencils, crayons, magic markers, glue sticks, tissues, pocket folders and disinfecting wipes. 

 Jillian Lorash, director of the Basin Rec District, said she has already been approached by families of incoming LIE students about school supplies. Those families are asking if any assistance is available. 

Heidi Chacon from Security State Bank stated that the bank is providing backpacks and is pleased to be a part of this project. “We are hoping for a big outcome with the goal of providing supplies for at least 30 students.”  

Items need to be dropped off by Aug. 13. The bank is the main dropoff location.  Donations may be dropped off from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the bank. 

Supplies may also be dropped off at the Basin Rec District; please bring to the southside/pool doors.
