Letter to the Editor: Local law enforcement should partner with ICE

Dear editor:

ICE personnel are federal law-enforcement personnel. They are hardly “unidentified agents” as they are in a very noticeable uniform with the words “POLICE” and “ICE” prominently displayed. They are masked because Democrats dox them and give out their personal information to harass and threaten them and their families at their homes and schools. Many of the illegal aliens they target are members of well-organized violent gangs known for retribution against those who interfere with their operations.

The popular media does not cover the ICE raids assisted by local law enforcement around the U.S. because nothing violent happens and they run smoothly.  Had the Minneapolis police been directed to assist ICE, the raids there would have much less violent with assuredly no deaths, and the paid professional agents provocateur there would be much less effective in stirring up the local rabble.

However, Governor Walz and Mayor Frey benefit from the turmoil as it keeps the massive, rampant theft, graft and corruption revealed being perpetrated in Minnesota out of the news.

Mr. Steve Helburn (author of Feb. 5, 2026, letter to the editor) needs to stop lapping up the leftist Kool-Aid ladled out by the Democrat media and do some objective research from various sources. Unfortunately, seeing is no longer believing, as AI videos can be extremely realistic and are certainly being generated to show ICE, et al, in the worst possible light. Many videos should be viewed with a healthy dose of salt and their sources considered.

Local law enforcement should partner with ICE when needed to avoid the fiasco taking place in Minnesota.
