Letter to the Editor: Don’t ICE agents have the right to protect themselves?

Dear editor:

In reference to the Greybull Standard’s Jan. 29 front page article entitled, “Big Horn County mulls proposal from ICE,” I want to speak to some misunderstanding on the organization and purpose of ICE.

ICE officers are not policemen, but they are hired and paid by the federal government to locate illegal immigrants who’ve been allowed into the United States by the Biden administration. These illegal immigrants are drug and sex traffickers, rapists, murderers and rioters.

ICE officers hunt them down, arrest them and put them into jail before they do harm to innocent people like you, me and our families. These illegal immigrants hate our country, hate you and me and have no respect for authority. ICE officers are employed to protect us.

The national news media (all except for Fox News and Victory News) don’t want you to know this.  False information about ICE is breathtaking.

As for videos showing ICE agents protecting themselves from ignorant and “paid-off” people harassing them, don’t they have a right to protect themselves?

Respectfully,

Nancy Preis
