It was a week on the road for the Lady Huskies, with games in Dubois and St. Stephens.

Facing Dubois on Friday, the games included lots of rallies and good things coming from the Lady Huskies but, ultimately, they lost in four games: 24-25, 19-25, 25-13, 21-25.

“You can always count on Dubois to be tough at home and they proved that to be true on Friday,” said Coach Erin Bassett. “Our girls put in a lot of effort and didn’t play poorly, but seemed to be missing a little spark.”

Dalley Basset was 100% from the serving line and added six kills, five digs and three assists. Naomi McNiven had eight kills and 10 digs. Eve McNulty had 13 digs. Paxton Philpott had 15 kills and 13 digs. Sarah McNiven had 13 kills. Hailee Winterholler had six kills and Adison Haslam and one kill, nine digs and 37 assists.

Burlington had a much easier time with St. Stephens, winning in three: 25-11, 25-10, 25-14. “St. Stephens is a fairly inexperienced team, so we took the opportunity to focus on specific offensive options each set,” said Bassett.

D. Bassett had five aces and five digs, Orabella Heaton was 100% serving, N. McNiven had six kills. Philpott added three aces and six kills. Winterholler had five aces and five kills, S. McNiven had one ace and nine kills. Haslam added one kill and 24 assists and Hannah Stanworth was 100% serving with one ace and three kills.

As the second half of the season nears, the Lady Huskies currently have a 16-7 overall record with three conference wins and one conference loss. They will have a slow week again with just one match in Meeteetse Friday at 2 and 3 p.m.
