Week 1 of Trap Shooting in Wyoming finished up last week and the Burlington Huskies had four shooters in the top 25 in their conference. Chase Allen tied for 9th place, shooting 22.50, Parker Cook tied for 16th place with 21.50 and Kole Walker tied for 22 place with 20.50 on the male side and Ava Wennberg tied for 10th place on the female side with 15.50. Those scores are averaged out of two rounds of 25 shots.

Individually, the Huskies are seeing some positive numbers. The top four shooters were Allen going 45/50, Cook with 43/50, Walker with 41/50 and Spence Winterholler 40/50. “Week one went really well,” said Coach Nate Kreider. “I’m looking forward to week two. Our middle school athletes are doing really well as you can see with Spence. First year shooting Trap and he’s keeping up with the top shooters on the team. Riggin Harris and Tagg Harris are first time shooters as well and they are just outside the top 4.”

Those combined scores for the Huskies have them in 5th place in Class 1A Conference 2, with a total score of 149.50. Wheatland leads in 1st place with 267 points, Kemmerer in 2nd with 220.50, Goshen County in 3rd with 205, Powell in 4th with 185 and Dubois in 6th with 149 points.
