From the huddle: Riverside Football
What a start to the season! Our team really showed out at the Week 0 Jamboree in Riverton, even with some of those first game jitters. We saw some amazing plays out there, and while we had a few mistakes that slowed us down at times, we saw the potential from everyone and we left super excited!
The encouraging news is that every issue on the tape is completely fixable. Like most teams this time of year, our main focus in practice this week boils down to fundamentals: sustaining our blocks on offense, improving our tackling, and getting more defensive hats to the football on every single snap.
Our focus now shifts entirely to a tough Casper Christian team. They made a massive statement last weekend with a 49-0 shutout victory over an athletic and experienced Ten Sleep squad. Casper Christian throws the ball extremely well and has athleticism across their entire roster. It’s going to be a phenomenal non-conference test for our group as we continue to figure out who we are as a squad and where we want to go as the season progresses.
Saturday promises to be a great afternoon of football at Dick Cheney Field. Action kicks off at 1:00 PM with our Middle School team facing off against Poison Spider School’s new 6-man program. The Varsity game will follow vs. Casper Christian immediately after at 3:00 PM.
We need the Road Warriors out in full force to bring the energy. Lets see lots of Red and Black in the stands and support the boys!
Go Rebels!
