How is social media impacting our youth? What can we do?
“How is social media impacting our kids?”
“What can we do to help our kids navigate social media?”
Those are two of the questions to be addressed Thursday, Aug. 21 in Greybull. Sponsored by the school district, the presentation starts at 6 p.m. the high school auditorium.
If you don’t think that social media can impact our youth, think about the stories about kids killing themselves after being bullied on social media.
Imagine every little mistake you may have made as a kid being blasted for the entire world to see. Imagine your face is put on a sexually explicit photo or a film. With today’s technology and A.I. those images are totally believable.
Social media is one of the greatest influences in our kids’ lives. Their social lives, mental health, self-esteem, communications and much more are tied to it.
The speaker is Max Stossel. He is an award-winning artist and founder of Social Awakening. This organization helps young people thrive and survive.
If you deal with kids in any way — parents, boss, grandparents, youth worker, club leader, friends, councilor/mentor — please consider attending. There is no charge.
