Help us plan for future of Riverside schools

Our school district is entering an important phase as we work to finalize our strategic plan, and community voice continues to be a vital part of this process. Over the past months, we have gathered feedback from students and staff to help shape our priorities and goals for the future. We are now seeking final input from our Rebel community as we move toward completion.

A public community meeting will be held on Monday, March 2 at 6 p.m. in the Riverside Commons area, where residents will have the opportunity to share their perspectives and provide final feedback on the district’s strategic plan. This meeting is an important opportunity to ensure that your voice is heard and reflected in the plan that will guide our work on behalf of students in the years ahead. We deeply value the role our community plays in shaping our vision, and we want our goals to reflect shared aspirations for student success.

In addition to strategic planning, the board of education is also having discussions around the possibility of moving to a four-day school week for the next school year. As with all major decisions, community input is essential. To hear comments, questions, and concerns, a community meeting was held on February 3, also in the Riverside Commons area. A second meeting will be held March 10 at 7 p.m. at the regularly scheduled meeting of the board. Members of the school board will be present to listen and engage with the community. This meeting has already been advertised through the local newspaper, the district’s Facebook page, and our website. Your questions and concerns will help shape our future plans if we do progress with this modification to the school calendar. 

Our district believes strongly that the best decisions are made when schools and communities work together. Engaging our community, partnering with families and local organizations and wrapping education around the community are central to who we are and how we serve our students. We encourage all community members to attend, share their voices and continue to help shape a strong future for our schools.
