Grants from Wyoming Arts Council & State Parks open

Headed out this week for a State Parks Commission meeting in Evanston. Thought it was a good time to share grant information from Wyoming Arts Council and Wyoming State Parks & Cultural Trust. 

The Wyoming Arts Council is now accepting applications in three grant categories: the Creative Aging Project Grant, the Professional Development/Career Advancement Grant, and the Arts Access Project Grant. These grants are available for programs and projects occurring during fiscal year 2026 (July 1, 2025-June 30, 2026).  Contact: Rachel Clifton, 307-256-0500; Rachel.Clifton@wyo.gov

The Wyoming Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources is now accepting applications for the 2026 Non-Motorized Recreational Trails Program (RTP). Pre-applications are due Sept. 1, 2025, and full applications must be submitted no later than Oct. 1, 2025. • Basin/Greybull Farmers Market:  Wednesdays in Basin 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. next to Russell’s on Fourth Street. Saturday in Greybull 9 a.m. to noon across from the middle school. 

• Town of Basin: Council meeting, August 28, 7 p.m. Planned power outage, Sept. 2, 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Households needing a generator for oxygen users may contact the Basin Volunteer Fire Department. 

• Friends of Medicine Lodge: Dutch-oven cooking contest and harvest games, August 30, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please pre-register so that we may purchase the appropriate number of supplies. wyoparks.info/medlodgecookoff

• UW Extension - August 31 Wellness & Creativity in the Wild will be held in Hyattville from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This wellness retreat, including lunch, is free, except for the painting class with Ranger Katie Singleton ($22), which starts at 2:00 p.m. 

• Basin Community Complex/Basin Rec: Youth Soccer in September Tuesdays and Thursdays at Henderson Park. Starts at 6 p.m. $10 per child. Sip and Shop Craft Show, Sept 6, 2 p.m.  to 8 p.m. $25 to sip (drinks from Lisa’s Western Cuisine) or free for nondrinkers. Live music, festive food, and vendors. 307-568-1488.
