Emmy’s Vintage Thrift Haven Opens in Basin

A new shopping destination has opened in Basin with the arrival of Emmy’s Vintage Thrift Haven. Located at 417 C Street the store, owned by Jessica Abbott and her boyfriend and co-owner, Kenny Porter, officially opened on July 6. It offers a wide selection of vintage treasures, thrifted goods, and new merchandise.

Named after Abbott’s 10-year-old daughter, Emmy, the business fulfills a 20-year dream she shared with her late mother. Abbott said opening the store brings that longtime dream to life and serves as a meaningful reminder of the conversations they shared over the years.

Abbott, who has lived in Worland since 2004 and previously worked as a paraeducator in special education, is the mother of three children—twin boys and a daughter, Emmy. She said she recognized a need for a thrift store in Basin. She and Porter travel to find unique inventory that isn’t typically available in the area while keeping prices affordable for local families.

“I want everyone to be able to afford something,” Abbott said. “I hope the store helps families find the things they need without having to travel.”

The store also accepts donations during business hours and hopes to become a community resource where shoppers can discover quality items at reasonable prices.

Emmy’s Vintage Thrift Haven is currently open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with updated hours planned beginning in August. Customers can contact the store through its Facebook page or by calling or texting 307-431-1591.
