Elaine Herman Terry

Funeral services for Elaine Herman Terry will be held Friday, June 28 at 2 p.m. at the Shell Community Hall. Elaine, 65, died June 19 of ovarian cancer.

She was born Aug. 20, 1953 in Pickstown, S.D., the daughter of Wesley and Marilyn Sater Herman. She attended school in Rock Rapids, Iowa until the family moved to Greybull in 1972, just prior to her senior year in high school. She graduated from Greybull High School in 1973.  In June of 1973. Elaine married John Gilmore. The couple had two children, Christopher and Christina; they later divorced.

In December 1980 she married Richard Maxwell Sr.; two more children were added to this union, Tammy and Josh. Richard passed away in 1995.

Elaine married Tony Terry in 2000; he passed away in 2012.

Elaine worked for the Wyoming Retirement Center; she retired in September 2018. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and once served as an inside guard.

She enjoyed spending time with her two grandchildren, Kristina and Daniel. She was a beautiful lady who was well-loved by those who knew her.

Elaine’s parents; her daughter Christina Gilmore, and two husbands preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons, Christopher L. Gilmore and Joshua Maxwell; daughter and son-in-law, Daniel and Tammy Maxwell Griffis; two sisters and brothers-in-law Tony and JoAnn Selzler of Greybull and Brian and Nancy Dellos of Worland; brother Dennis Herman of Greybull and two grandchildren.

Burial will be in the Whaley Cemetery. Donations in Elaine’s memory may be made to the Worland Eagles Auxiliary, Box 524, Worland, WY 82401.
