Easter events planned across south Big Horn County
Big Horn County has several hopping Easter celebrations planned for the upcoming holiday. Here are the egg hunts, breakfasts and other special events taking place locally:
Greybull
The Greybull Recreation District’s annual Easter Skate for kids 12 and under will be Saturday, April 5.
Bring your basket or a bag to the Herb Asp Community Center at 6:30 p.m. Skates will be checked out to guests and the hunt on wheels will begin promptly after everyone gets their skates on. The fee is $3 per person, which includes skate rental. For more information call the rec office at 765-9575 or email greybullrec@gmail.com.
The Greybull Elks Lodge and American Legion Post 32 will sponsor an Easter Egg Hunt in the Greybull City Park Sunday, April 5 at 2 p.m. The event is open to children ages one through 11, with three separate start times and hunts for the different age groups: Ages 1-4 at 2 p.m., 5-7 at 2:10 p.m. and 8-11 at 2:20 p.m.
Shell
The Shell Hall Board’s annual Easter breakfast and egg hunt is also set for Sunday, April 5. Biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage and orange juice will be served from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Shell Community Hall, price is $6 for kids and $12 for adults. The Easter Egg Hunt will follow.
Basin
The Wyoming Retirement Center, 890 U.S. Highway 20S, will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt Friday, April 3 at 2 p.m. There will be separate hunts for ages 0-3, 4-7 and 8-12 with golden ticket prizes for each age group. Attendees should bring their own basket and arrive early. The hunt starts promptly at 2 p.m. After the hunt is over, please leave your empty plastic eggs in the containers by the gazebo.
Burlington
Burlington’s Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, April 4 with different start times for different ages. Toddlers through Pre-K will kick off the hunt at 9 a.m. on the church lawn. Kindergarten through second grade will start at 9:15 a.m. on the west side of Centennial Park, third through fifth grade at 9:30 a.m. on the east side of the park. BYO basket, instructions will begin five minutes before each group’s start time.
