Donations sought for clothing giveaway

Basin Rec District manager Jillian Lorash knows a bit about free clothing giveaways. She organized one last year in Greybull. The Los Gabanes Event Center was full of clothing. Many families were blessed from the event.

This year Lorash is hosting another giveaway through the Basin Rec. It will be held November 13 & 14, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Basin Community Complex (former High School Gym).

While she is collecting clothes for all age groups and gender, she is really wanting to get boy’s sizes 3T to 8.  Winter coats of any size and men’s clothing are also high on her priority list. Women’s clothes are the least needed, but a few are welcome.

Lorash said she hosts this event because budgets are tight, things are more expensive and the holidays are coming. Money people might have spent on clothes may be used for other things. “We want people to get what they need for the colder months, including coats. The event also prevents waste in our landfills.”

The items should be gently used and clean. They may be dropped off at the south door of the community center, by the swimming pool.
