Come to the fairgrounds this Saturday for Christmas shopping fun

If you keep doing the same things, you won’t get a new year. You’ll just get another year. — UnknownSanta’s Bazaar and Little Shoppers are this Saturday; both start at 9 a.m., Little Shoppers ends at noon. Children 10 and under may shop for up to 10 gifts for $1 gift. Please remember that gift tags should be filled out at home and brought to Little Shoppers. 

We will be sending out 2026 chamber membership renewals shortly. It is sure helpful when the renewals come in at the start of the year.  For those of you who joined less than six months ago, feel free to prorate. 

Chamber member lunch this week at noon. Lunch provided by Epiphanies Cheesecake and Catering. 

Chamber member news: 

• Hyattville Community Center: Annual Christmas party, Dec. 14. Caroling starts at 5 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. Bring a side dish to share. Santa will be there. 

 • Basin Heritage Initiative:  Community Christmas Exchange & Best Christmas Cookie Bake-off, Dec. 14, 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.   Free night at the movies, Dec. 14, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Basin City Arts Center. Bring a non-perishable food item as your ticket for the movie. The food items will go to the Basin Area Food Bank. 

• Shell Community Hall:  Christmas Festival, Dec. 13, starting at 11 a.m.   

• St. Andrews:  Neat Repeat Thrift Shop, Dec. 13, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Holiday gift tables, decorations, toys, dishes. 

• BHC GOP: Dec. 16, 6 p.m.  Short regular meeting and Christmas get together. White Elephant gift exchange and potluck. All registered Republicans are encouraged to attend. BHC Weed & Pest Building.  We are concerned citizens, too, that’s why we show up and discuss what’s happening.

• American Legion Auxiliary: December meeting, Dec. 9, 2 p.m. at the WRC. Stop Veteran suicide rally, Dec. 22, noon to 1 p.m. at Russell Park. 

• Wyoming Retirement Center:  Merry Christmas on the Hill, Dec. 19, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Free fun for everyone with sweet treats, hot chocolate and games.  

• Security State Bank:  Security State Bank is collecting new socks in various sizes and styles now thru Dec. 19 for our “Socks for Seniors” event. Donations will benefit the wonderful residents at the Basin Retirement Center.  Your kindness makes a big impact-thank you for supporting our local seniors!  The bank is doing an escape room on Dec. 20 as a fundraiser for our scholarship fund.  

• Basin Area Food Pantry:  Ham drive, Dec. 16, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the back door of the Basin Area Chamber. Small to medium hams preferred. Christmas Basket Food Drive on now. Pick up bags with a shopping list at Security State Bank or Basin’s Market, return full bags by Dec. 18.  Christmas basket giveaway for families needing food assistance. Dec. 20, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. 

• Greybull Rec: Gingerbread graham cracker houses, Dec. 12, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Christmas Craft workshop, Dec. 19, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the library in Greybull. 

• Camp Bethel:  Don’t forget to make plans and get registered for our upcoming New Year’s celebration Dec. 31! You can find information and register for the event at https://www.campbethelwyo.com/new-years-family-celebration They look forward to seeing you!
